Racist right wing Toronto mayor smokes crack on video

Recommended Posts

And this is any different than this?

Barry came to national prominence as mayor of the national capital, the first prominent civil-rights activist to become chief executive of a major American city;[2] he gave the presidential nomination speech for Jesse Jackson at the 1984 Democratic National Convention. His celebrity transformed into international notoriety in January 1990, when Barry was videotaped smoking crack cocaine and arrested by FBI officials on drug charges.

Your nonrelenting attacks on those who lean right are so predictable they are humorous and stupid all at the same time.

The evidence of facts is pretty skimpy in this accusation. There is a Toronto wave of hate fostering many ill founded rumours against Mayor Ford. It all started with a CBC super queer drag queen ambushing Ford in the driveway of his own home. From that incident which wasn't funny at all, its been a continuing wave of false or unproven accusations against Ford.
Its typical of what the CBC does to anyone who they don't like.

Racist? He volunteers his time to coach an inner city high school football team that is made up of, that's right, made up of black students. If he hates blacks, why does he spend so much time trying to help them have fun and help them learn a few life lessons from sports.

Mayor Ford is no saint. He has his flaws. But the next time you want people to take you seriously, find some source other than one of the many radical left wing groups who tries anything and everything to slander the mayor.

"Don't confuse them with the facts, they've already made up their minds." Just one more example o calling anyone and anything they don't like "racist".

In the video, the man who looks and sounds like Ford calls a rival politician a “fag” and says the high school football team he coaches are “just fucking minorities.”

Remember this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Se_R2bn2YTg

You probably think this is real.

Rob Ford is no saint. He has plenty of faults. But what you are trying to do here is nothing new. The left has been slandering the mayor from the moment he took office. When you have some actual evidence, not slander, by all means present your evidence to the community. Until then all that you have supplied is garbage.

It's rather amusing that the "troubles" for the mayor of Toronto are barely noticed by the rest of Canada, (outside of southern Ontario). Yet, as evidenced even in this thread, many seem to enjoy salacious news and are perpetually prepared to pass judgement.

To ensure that no voyeur goes home disappointed, here's some more:

http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2013/05/rob-ford-crack-video-toronto-mayor.html

Incidentally, the criticism earlier in this thread, leveled towards the CBC by 'Chuteless' arose from a freaking weekly comedy program.

(from the link:) In October of 2011, Ford was met in his driveway by a member of Canadian comedy show This Hour Has 22 Minutes who was dressed like Xena. Ford, finding this absolutely terrifying, went inside and called 911, twice. He reportedly told the dispatcher, "Don’t you fucking know? I’m Rob fucking Ford, the mayor of this city." Ford later apologized "for expressing my frustration inappropriately."

OK, after doing some reading-up on Rob Ford, here are a couple of my thoughts:

1. He either smoked crack (or smoked from a crack-type pipe believing it was illicit drugs), or he didn't. Period. Hopefully, reliable evidence of the actual truth will eventually come out.

2. He's being targeted so much because he regularly violates a basic (and non-partisan) rule of politics, which is a blood-sport under even the best of circumstances: Don't be a fucking asshole. Sure, everybody in politics gets targeted, but fucking assholes get targeted twice as much. Sorry, Mrs. Ford, your Robbie's an asshole.

(My examples come from the US - look at how Reagan and Clinton each weathered their respective scandals, but Nixon did not. Why? Well, in part, Reagan and Clinton were affable and personally likeable, while Nixon (even though very bright and capable) was a mean-spirited asshole who personally was generally disliked even by members of his own party.)

3. A reminder that, in a democracy, the people get the government they deserve, for they're the ones who vote the rascals in. A mayor is The Public Face of his/her city. Hey, citizens of Toronto, nice job; and for those of you who voted for a first-class douche to be The Public Face of (what I happen to think is) a really nice city, you have nobody to blame by the guy in the mirror.

How much do you really know about Toronto? Do you actually pay attention to the city's affairs? Remember I lived in the USA for 8 (great) years so I am aware of the lack of news coverage Canada gets in the USA. Someone in the USA actually needs to be proactive in seeking news coverage from places like Toronto. If they aren't proactive, they simply won't be aware of what is going on. So are you aware of the track record of the Rob Ford's predecessor? Without looking it up, do you even know the name of the mayor who proceeded Rob Ford? If you know anything about how the previous mayor ran the city's affairs, then maybe you would understand why the current mayor was voted in.

Rob Ford is no saint. He has plenty of faults. But the mess in Toronto (make no mistake Toronto is a complete mess right now) runs much deeper than just the current mayor and the way the consensus mainstream media is treating this issue is a complete farce. In the eyes of the MSM, you are now guilty unless you can prove to them that you are innocent as the MSM would much rather believe unverifiable slander produced by Somali drug dealers rather than treat someone as innocent until proven guilty. By the way, WTF are Somali drug dealers doing in the country? Shouldn't the media be running stories on how we let Somali drug dealers stay in the country? No the media only cares about sensationalizing their stories and if a scandal does not exist, trust that the consensus mainstream media will invent a scandal to keep themselves busy.

Interesting take from a Canadian; and I'll read it with an open mind. But this isn't about me, and I'm not going to play "divert & joust". For the sake of fullness, I'd be interested in reading Aphid's and some of the other regular Canadian posters' take on the same subject as you have just addressed.

If credible evidence surfaces that proves that Rob Ford was doing drugs with these Toronto based Somali drug dealers, then yes I will be one of many who will be calling for the mayor to step down (even though he is not even my mayor, I live on the other side of the country). But I want to live in a country where people are considered "Innocent until proven guilty" and well that is something that is just not happening with this issue. The MSM has stooped to a new low with this story.

Frankly, based on what he's done while in office I'd rather have a crack-addled Rob Ford leading the city than loonie leftie Adam Vaughn or Karen Stunnedson anytime...
If some old guy can do it then obviously it can't be very extreme. Otherwise he'd already be dead.

The left getting their hands back on Toronto would indeed be a bad thing at this point. Ford got elected because it was time to "stop the gravy train".

There is no doubt in my mind, that specifically The Toronto Star has been gunning for him. The Star is indeed a left leaning newspaper. However, Ford has not done himself any favours. He is a poor public speaker, comes across as a bully and seems to be completely unable to build any concensus.

The way the Ford brother's are further handling this current issue very poorly.

Should this be true, and I have my doubts at this point, then Ford does indeed need to step down. He then also needs support and help, not hand wringing and kicking when a man is down.

I am very torn on the subject of Mayor Ford. I like most of his ideology, too bad he comes across as such a bumbling idiot.

Rob Ford is no saint and I am sure things would be better if someone such as Deputy Mayor Doug Holyday were to take over ASAP. But I am still amazed and disgusted with how the media is attacking the mayor with this latest issue without a shred of credible evidence yet to appear. And it's not just the Star, Gawker and the CBC. All of the consensus mainstream media (CTV, Global, Post Media and the Globe & Mail ... to name a few) are going way beyond what one would expect them to cover with this story. If credible evidence does surface, fine "fry the mayor". Even if it was just weed he was smoking, he showed extremely poor judgment. But so far no credible evidence has been presented and all the media has done is present their slander. It's pathetic.

Well, now Robbie has reacted the way all ethical people do - by alienating those closest to him:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-22652913

***Toronto Mayor Ford fires aide Towhey after drug claims

The mayor of Toronto, Rob Ford, has sacked his chief of staff as he fights allegations that he has been caught smoking crack cocaine on camera.

No reason was given for Mark Towhey's dismissal.

... Mr Towhey was escorted out of Toronto's City Hall on Thursday, saying only that he did not resign. "My advice is for him and him only," he told reporters.

On Wednesday, the mayor was removed as volunteer head coach of a high school football team, the Don Bosco Eagles, by the Toronto Catholic District School Board. No explanation was given.

Right-leaning paper the Toronto Sun, normally supportive of Mr Ford's agenda, wrote in an editorial that if the mayor could not appear in public to say the video was a fraud, then he should step aside and seek medical help. The paper described the mayor's silence as "deafening".

So where is this video? To date only three people on this entire planet (all three who are highly partisan) have come forward saying they have seen the video and yet there is no shortage of people in the consensus mainstream media, people on the late night comedy circuit and millions of partisans who claim that the video is beyond doubt proof that the mayor is a crackhead and needs to resign immediately. Where is the video? Does it even exist? Or was this just yet another example of how dishonest the media have become?

Do we live in a society where media slander is the rule of law and now there is no need to live to the standard of "Innocent until proven guilty"?

There is an easily shown rule for pretty much anything:

Once something becomes a political fact, actual truth is irrelevant.

Look at today's technology. Now there is a world of people who have never heard of Ford. But now he's the crack-smoking racist mayor of Toronto. It's an image that will never leave him.

So even if he sticks around as mayor, his efficacy will be limited.
