As an employee of one of his sponsors I wish he would just keep silent.

Ha. Apparently, he got the message from your boss: he's apologized.

Yep...its 2013. So many things you're not allowed to talk about anymore.

It's pretty much always been a no-no to bite the hand that feeds you.

You mean he gets checks from the government too?
Please don't dent the planet.

I wouldn't be surprised if he signed away some of his free speech rights when he accepted some of his sponsorships.

If he lives in California, then his problem is more likely to be his tax dollars going to welfare states, such as Florida, Louisiana, or Mississippi.

Re-read what you just said. You sure you don't want to edit it?

Why would I want to edit it? It's fairly well known that California is one of the states that subsidizes welfare states like Florida, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

Edit to add: Oh, I see. I should have spelled out California instead of writing CA.

(Psst. Probably has something to do with state taxes.)

Although this entire thread is moot now since Mickelson has recanted.

Wasn't he complaining about his total taxes? That total tax bill could be lower (or he would receive increased government services for the same taxes) if Californians weren't subsidizing welfare states.

Yes, and state taxes are deductible from Federal as well.

He also got his figures very wrong in terms of total taxes. He said he was paying something like 60%. So, he really has his head up his ass if he's doing them himself or his accountant is ripping him off or doing a horrible job.

But again . . . This thread is moot.

Good for him! He's joined the ranks of the GOP who prefer to bitch and whine, rather than actually do anything.

If he really wants to do something symbolic and pointless, though, he could hire a few people then fire them "because of Obamacare." It's all the rage.

I personally hope he does leave. He is more than welcome here in Texas.

California doesn't need the 8.4 million he pays in taxes. . . .just his state taxes.

He should definitely move to Texas.

Guess you can now say the same about Tina Turner too

Tina Turner has lived in Switzerland since 1995. She moved there with her SO, who is German, to get on with the next phase of her personal life, and has resided there, virtually full-time, ever since. She learned German, and has integrated herself into the society of her adopted country. So after 18 years away, and apparently with every intent of remaining at her SO's side in Switzerland for the rest of her life, why is is not, finally, about time for her to stop paying taxes to the US?

Thanks to Google, I did a quick survery of news stories about this. With one exception, every article, from every news agency, has been pretty neutral about it. The one exception I found was...wait for it... Fox News, which bashed her for it. Gee, what a surprise.

You can have him! Less traffic for us. Think he will stop whining when he gets there?

What whining?

He stated he shouldn't have used the platform he did to voice his concerns.

Can you afford another 14% or rather paying almost 63% in taxes?
