Funny stuff. After the show was aired, people on at least one online gun forum started emailing the DC PD about it. They got an email response from DC yesterday. It's all over the major networks now. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/50297604#.UNszhm88DTo

don't forget about charges for the poor sap(s) that purchased it, transported it, and gave it to him. Charges for them too.

unless of course it's defended under freedom of the press...

in any case, it will be interesting to see what happens here.

He brought a prop in, should have used an airsoft one.
I would imagine they did not think this through.

I think the outrage will backfire on those who are supporters of the 2nd Amendment, and its confirmation of a right, held at birth.

Congrats, David Gregory, for demonstrating how these gun control laws really work.

He won't go to jail though. His, and the Station's, Lawyers will meet with the Prosecuting DA, explain it was meant as a prop (as it was) to prove a point, they will argue it was the 1st used to showcases the "flaws" of the 2nd, a press conference will happen, a "lesson learned" statement will be made, and then the Pro 2nd Amendment Folks will be attacked for the whole episode.

End result, nothing, other than more coverage for the man, and he becomes a hero among his fellow none-journalists.

Agreed. Petulance is not going to be the way the Pro-gun forces "win." Both this and and Piers Morgan petition are prime examples. The best strat would have been to simply chuckle in the background. By pressing these issues, the Pro-gun forces just look silly.

Supposedly he did ask DC PD for permission to bring the magazine in and they denied him (reported by CNN and Fox again). That, may be the real cause for the "investigation" and may make my earlier prediction wrong. I guess I won't play the lottery after all.

He did ask. The verified emails are in the other link l provided. The police said no. He did it anyway.

Thanks for displaying. Didn't know what a 30 round magazine looked like. So tired of journalists actions becoming the story when they are suppose to be reporting stories.

Ha ha! You called him a Journalist!
They don't report, they make stories.

Hey - I just found out that Gregory's kids also go to Sidwell.

It's good enough for his kids.

Ya

His kids are in the same school as Obama's

Yep, rich folks can afford private schools, private jets, luxury yachts, all kinds of stuff. Only a pinko socialist commie would find this objectionable

Exactly

and since you have been whining about the rich and taxes for months this should be a real eye opener for yourself

But yet you would bitch about affording dollars to protect our children

Shameful sir

But, it looks like you are learning something about yourself

That is the first step

Maybe he should not have asked. It's easier to get forgivness than permission.

Have I objected to taxes paying for armed police? Have I objected to rich folks being able to pay for stuff? Have I whined about my taxes going up?

You have an over active imagination and ability to project.

Surely you aren't suggesting that reporters do illegal things, conspire illegally, and/or have illegal dealings with anyone to get stories are you?

Surely this "freedom of the press" you mention wouldn't allow illegal activities to be be overlooked and ignored! :o

But Gregory derides the NRA for suggesting that the rabble kids should have the same opportunities. That's the problem.

I'm surprised that you and rushmc have become so socialist all of a sudden. Where will it end, do you want taxpayers to pay for your yachts too?

I believe he was pointing out the hypocrisy, not the wish to further it.

You seem to miss that, WAY, WAY to much. One might think it was a convenient act of willful ignorance..
