FoxNews outs SEAL Team member

Nice job dick heads!

The book's publisher said the special operations forces team member did not want to reveal his name to protect himself and his family.

But only a day after the New York Times first reported the book was coming out, Fox News reported the author's real name on its website and posted photos of him in combat gear.

He must have been on record as supporting Obama.

This is just more proof that voting Republican these days is voting against everything that the USA used to stand for. They have no morals or ethics. What used to be a respectable, thoughtful party has become a cancer on the country.

He is not active any longer, he should bask in the lime-light now, of a job well done.

If he didn't want the attention he shouldn't have written a book. He has only himself to blame for the media attention.

It boggles the mind that the most right-wing news organization would deliberately put a serviceman at risk.:S

I'm convinced that pretty much everyone inside the beltway is in it for themselves, and doesn't give a shit about anything that the US used to stand for.

...and his family.

Let you imagination run wild, how is he or his family in danger?

Do you read the news?

Did they put him at risk...or did he do so himself and to other servicemen by writing this outside of DoD auspices or review in the first place?

As little as possible. The world has gone crazy. Yeah, ok, I'm not impressed.

+1 He wrote a book to profit from war. What did he expect?

You're being glib. So did everyone who ever wrote a book about war. Name one who didn't.

The difference is they and their families generally aren't going to end up being targets for retribution.

There are, in fact, legitimate reasons for some people to remain anonymous.

Now, will these tools speak out against Fox News for this mishap, being that Fox created a much greater risk than Obama ever did?

It's a rhetorical question...

Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

FOX News and all the other news networks have no scruples. It's not like the 'old days' when a reporter would not give the name of someone who asked that their name not be given-out. They had an un-written 'code of ethics'. That's all gone out the window for ratings and viewers.

What boggles the mind is thinking that the right-wing has ever had the well-being of the military as a priority.

My experience with SpecOps folks is that they are supreme warriors and not that concerned with political ideology. Right wing, left wing no matter, the mission is the message and the purpose.

At the beginning of the movie "Act of Valor" a SEAL states that the worst part of growing old is that men will no longer think of you as dangerous.

Mark Owen violated the SpecOps code but I am going to buy and read the book. You bet your sweet ass I am. ;)

This guy can't be stupid. I am sure he expected to be found out, and he knew the danger that would bring to himself and his family. I am also just as certain he has a plan to protect himself and his family. I doubt this plan will entail holding hands and singing Kumbaya with anyone foolish enough to track him down.

I'm definitely going to buy the book. He can use the money to buy more ammo ;):D

He made a choice, he took a gamble. It's no ones fault but his own. Like someone said above, he had to know there was a chance this would happen and now it's just free advertising for him.

Once I got his name from Fox News, then googled that, I pulled up stories stating that he did *not* have the book vetted by the DoD prior to publishing. WTH? It's hard to believe he or his publisher would be that reckless.
