"For example, Mr. Romney wants to keep all the Bush tax cuts, then cut taxes much further, particularly for the rich, but he says the plan won’t grow the deficit by a dime."

QuotePlease explain the $700 billion in cuts to Medicare in the Obamacare package.!
They aren't there.
Romney: Obamacare cuts Medicare by approximately $500 billion.
As we have written many times, the law does not slash the current Medicare budget by $500 billion. Rather, that’s a $500 billion reduction in the future growth of Medicare over 10 years, or about a 7 percent reduction in growth over the decade. In other words, Medicare spending would continue to rise, just not as much. The law stipulates that guaranteed Medicare benefits won’t be reduced, and it adds some new benefits, such as improved coverage for pharmaceuticals. Source

>cut in benefits. when you listen to democrats, but when democrats propose the same
>thing then it is not a cut?
Exactly.
Take Romneycare vs Obamacare. If you listen to conservatives, one is an evil socialist government-run boondoggle; the other is just a smart government taking care of its citizens. A spin by any other name . . .

You clearly have me confused with someone else. Or you don't know what demonstrably means. Or you don't know what manichean means.QuoteAnd exactly what point would that be?
Romney's economic plan is not mathematically sound. That's a much bigger deal than conservatives would like to admit.
By golly, you're right!
I much prefer the mathematically sound economic plan offered by, uh, lemme think, it's, uh...
Come to think of it, P.J. O'Rourke did a pretty good job of it; I think it was at the conclusion of "Parliament of Whores."

I personally haven't read anything that says that, but a valid argument, IMO, is that it's within a states right to take such action. Whether it works or not remains to be seen. Isn't Mass. trying to pass a bill that effectively imposes price controls on the entire health industry?

OK, tell us:
Which programs Mitt will cut and how much it will save?
Which loopholes he will close and how much it will save?
What will he put in place of the ACA that he intends to repeal?
Which regulations will he eliminate?
How will he make up the revenue shortfall due to cutting taxes by 20%?

QuoteAfter listening to "Obama's Brain" David Axelrod, one would come away thinking that If Romney / Ryan were to be elected, the streets would run red with the blood of women, minorities, elderly, gays, immigrants, children, college students, and anyone making less than $250,000 per year. That is funny, because he has been elected and reelected by a district that is predominantly Democrat, and has gone for Obama, Gore and Clinton. So what gives?
He decided he needs the Tea Party more than he needs moderates?

October 11, Kentucky. I am looking forward to this too, but probably not for the right reason.

QuoteEven more controversy will come on the spending side, where Ryan has consistently proposed deep cuts in government programs: He’d slash Medicaid by $800 billion over 10 years, shift Medicare from a guaranteed insurance program to one where seniors get a government subsidy to buy their own coverage, and chop all other spending from about 13 percent of Gross Domestic Product to about 4 percent.
