Mitt is and has been leading Obama in the Rass polls

"In a hypothetical Election 2012 matchup, presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney earns 47% of the vote, while President Obama attracts support from 44%. Matchup results are updated daily at 9:30 a.m. "
You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.

unfortunately, these guys want you to subscribe to give you very much detail.

It looks like they use machines to autodial and query people, the supplement with an online survey. Lots of massaging to make up for the bias in respondents. It *appears* they are targeting the country as a whole, not the registered voters or the likely voters.

Historically, they are pretty accurate. They predicted the 2008 election far better than anyone else.

sample size of n=1 isn't compelling. Meredith Whitney called the last recession but she's been wrong a lot lately, blew most of her credibility calling for mass muni defaults.

A tracking poll of the US population has limited bearing on the election result.

These are the results when registered voters are asked: "Suppose the presidential election were held today. If Barack Obama were the Democratic Party's candidate and former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney were the Republican Party's candidate, who would you vote for Barack Obama, the Democrat or Mitt Romney, the Republican?" Those who are undecided are further asked if they lean more toward Obama or Romney and their leanings are incorporated into the results.

Note also the abrupt reversal in the past week. Seems a bit hard to support. Also the use of registered voters, not likely.

but that is two polls now. Just remember that Dukakis had a big lead in the summer of 1988. It's a bit easier when the incumbent is still ignoring you.

RP's biggest problem is there is a 3 way, concerted effort between right, left, and the media to silence & ignore him. He didn't even get 90 seconds of air time on one debate. They pretend he can't get elected, and then when he almost wins Iowa (but doesnt) they play it up and create a self fulfilling prophecy with voters that might have picked him later.

All that taken into consideration, he won Iowa and Minnesota looks like Washington and probably a few more of the caucus states.... Remember the MSM told us that he did not win, could not win, ignored him, laughed at him and ridiculed him.

All the while he was winning. He is also gathering crowds other candidates could only dream of.

He is by far the most popular of the politically active, the lemmings however seem to decide the fate of the world and the PNAC control the media that decides for them.

Plenty of videos like this from every state.

The election is rigged and anyone that thinks it is a fair and honest election is kidding themselves!

Have fun with your NDAA.

Apparently I agree most with Jill Stein.

And agree with Gary Johnson the Libertarian as much as with Obama.

Me too. No surprise as I have voted Green many times in presidential elections.

My wife and I just spent ten hours on the road driving from the north GA mountains to the Tampa Bay Area. We listened to NPR most of the drive. All their poll reports favor BHO for the win. However, the entire trip we saw only two Obama/Biden bumper stickers but many for Romney/Ryan. Furthermore, Romney/Ryan road advertisements, of several types, were all along the route. We saw none for BHO.

What does this mean? I don't know but it sure caught my attention.

Everything I've read is that this is going to be exceptionally close, but the popular vote is leaning Romney, and the electoral college vote is leaning Obama. I live in a very Republican area, so seeing Obama/Biden stickers, signs, or pins is rare just on the basis of support. But travelling, maybe Romney supporters are just more likely to express their opinion with bumper stickers? I dunno.

It means you were driving through rural Georgia and north Fla. Nothing more and nothing less. I'd say your observations are indicative of the relative support of the ticket in those areas.
