Wyoming Doomsday Legislation

to have the task force also examine conditions under which Wyoming would need to implement its own military draft, raise a standing army, and acquire strike aircraft and an aircraft carrier.

I'll bet the people at "The Onion" are banging their heads on their desks saying, "Why the hell didn't we think of that?"

Seriously, Wyoming needs an aircraft carrier? Where would they park it? Classic example of delusions-of-grandeur that a little [piss-ant] State like Wyoming thinks it's the next world superpower. Crap, you can't even see Russia from Wyoming.

Just how do you think they will have air superiority over Yellow Stone without one?
You stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions.

But King noted that the federal government set up a Continuity of Government Commission in 2002, of which former U.S. Sen. Al Simpson, R-Wyo., was co-chairman. However, King said he didn’t know of any states that had established a similar board."

I think all states have continuity of operations plans, not necessarily for the breakdown of federal government, but for natural disasters. For example, Florida and Texas have extensive plans, that are actually put into play from time to time, to deal with hurricanes, covering things like mass evacuations, loss of electricity, emergency services, etc. Kind of the same things you would expect to have to deal with from a government breakdown. So I can't see what this article talks about being much different from what already goes on.

Even businesses do it. In one of the companies I worked for they spent massive amounts of money for computer recovery plans, and we would do annual tests moving all our data and communications to locations in other states to see how fast we could restore the computer services upon which the company depended, in case the usual data center was wiped out.

It seems that many bureaucratic agencies/corporations are planning for the worst. My son-in-law is a programmer employed by a banking corporation. He told me a month or so ago that he was working on contingency programming for the financial collapse of Greece.

I live in FL and am well aware of disaster preparedness. If it is just normal planning, why is it making news so frequently?

I believe something is coming and I don't think it is going to be good.

Your apocalyptic views are not novel, they have been at the forefront of Judeo-Christian writings and beliefs for thousands of years. Every generation has spoke that we are now living in 'The worst of times" and God will soon deliver us from all the wickedness and evil in the world.

It really is getting old.

I really want to give you a smart ass reply but, I am not able.

Well I can't hold it in any longer...I don't know how you do it Ron!:D

When we were young we were taught to "always be prepared." In the past several years we've seen examples of economic instability...we've seen the greed. We've heard things like "economic collapse," "financial meltdown," "recession," "depression,"whatever...we've seen the impact around the world, and then people laugh and mock at those who dare ask the question of how should we prepare if such a seemingly inevitable situation should occur? And then the same scoffers try to turn it into some type of self serving bigoted bash against christianity.

The simple-minded feebleness of some of the obnoxious atheistic liberals here is enough to just shove a pencil up your ass and shit your pants...(in Lewis black voice):D

Whatever, I guess I can't blame them...denials a bitch.

They believe in the immaculated messiah. BHO gonna fix everything in the next term.

The mental challenge for me when dealing with the liberal/socialist/atheist contingent of SC is understanding their arguments, remarks and comments will become tangential at some point requiring my creativity in response without using profanity. I've noticed that some of the foreigners jump the track immediately when confronted. However, the scale-eyed Americans often delay their shift in consciousness thus requiring an extended period of spiritual contemplation. Sometimes I'm up to the task and sometimes all I can think of is "Go fuck yourself."

Within the confines of this forum, some members elicit that latter response as soon as I see their name. The ones I respect will receive a reply from me on most occasions.

Their are some liberal/socialist/atheist contributors that have earned my respect because I understand and am humbled by their professional contribution to society. Others are just Internet twits.

Also, it is often directly proportional to my coffee intact and/or the amount of therapy I need.

Turning the U.S.A. into a continuation of what is going on in Greece and Spain is my first concern.

I believe all Western Democracy's are in deep trouble. In a democracy the wishes of the majority are supposed to be honored. But what happens when the majority has lost their sense of sanity and continue to demand special interest programs which are just not sustainable and end up bankrupting the society it is supposed to service? It does not matter if we are talking about a demographic that demands their government supplied "nanny state" where everything we need in life is given to us on a silver platter, or if another demographic is demanding massive military spending. Every where you look you see governments spending money that they do not have and who is responsible for this spending. Yes politicians need to take a lot of blame ever since they discovered spending equals votes equals power. But we the people are mainly to blame, because we the people are incapable of seeing we are living in societies that can not be sustained.

Good summation.

Pretty soon, everybody will be somebody, and nobody will be anybody.

Both of you cut it out.

Nah, actually you can go fuck yourself Bill Von. I love how you try to act as though you're a "middle of the road guy" yet you only seem to warn the lefties when a righty talks shit back to them. Hell I got called an asshole twice in the thread I started and you kept quiet, but I'm quite sure if I had called that little bitch an asshole back, you would then piped and warned both of us. You're the most one sided piece of shit moderator I've ever seen.

Again, fuck you, feel free to ban me.
