Stop the insanity.

Obama is going to borrow more money from China to open up a new permanent US naval base in Australia to counteract the threat of Chinese expansion.

Seems to me that it isn't China who is expanding their military influence, it's Obama. I guess he wants to win another Nobel Peace Prize for his expansion plans. When Obama said "Yes we can", what he meant was "Yes we can be just like the other guys", except he will spend more that's all. :S

Its about time that the USA had a reality check. China is the big dog in the pound these days and the might of the US military is nothing in the face of the might of the Chinese economy. Its a joke to think that somehow having a US base in Australia is protecting the Australians seeing as China owns most of whats worth owning in Australia already. China doesn't need to go to war to achieve its goals thats so last century, these days they simply purchase what they want (including much of corporate America and US debt).
As for US change of focus in attempting to assert influence in APAC its to little far to late.

The Chinese economic expansion is more of a threat than their military. Too bad our government hasn't noticed that America is getting our ass kicked in a trade war--you know, the one that all our politicians tell us we must avoid at all costs. The one that has resulted in mass unemployment and loss of income tax revenue.

Way too many "patriotic" americans are too interested in short term gains so they can get to be some of those 1%ers.
There has been a firesale of American companies to the Chinese...Greed does seem to trump patriotism

I think Cirrus aircraft come to mind and the way it was sold.. Now they are selling training aircraft BACK to our military...

Way to go:S:S:S

Those would include the 99%ers who are too interested in buying cheap imported manufactured goods to figure out why they can't find a well-paying job with benefits. The 1%ers figured out how to get rich from selling-out American labor long ago.

There's plenty of blame to go around.

Haven't seen a "Boycott PD" thread yet. My new reserve was made in Honduras.

That is too difficult a link for the huddled masses to figure out. Much easier to collect unemployment, outfit their lives from China (Walmart), and bitch about how the Dems/Repubs (take your pick) did this to them.
