jclalor 12 #1 August 28, 2011 I say the jury was right on the mark with this one, they should have also been convicted of murder. http://www.gazette.com/articles/jury-123946-burglar-lot.html
StreetScooby 5 #2 August 28, 2011 If the cops had done their job, this wouldn't have happened. They were repeatedly robbed. Granted, their judgement was flawed. If anything, the moral here is use rock salt, IMO.We are all engines of karma
lost_n_confuzd 0 #3 August 28, 2011 Good riddance. Hopefully she don't waste it all on drugs like her low life father would have. As far as the shooter, yeah, I'm surprised no severe criminal charges were filed. These guys knew what they were doing. Should've used pepper spray or something less lethal and held 'em off for the cops to show up. 300k sounds about right.

Yawn and watch your premiums skyrocket to the point where it either drives you out of business or you are unable to secure insurance. Claymores and landmines are much more cost effective. Plus it's not habit forming. The perpetrator(s) will not be making the same mistake twice. How anyone can defend a group of heavily armed men looking for an excuse to execute someone instead of making a simple citizen's arrest is beyond me!It's all been said before, no sense repeating it here. Yep. Turns out we're a bit more civilized than we're credited for. We don't like use of deadly force to protect property. But as you may be aware, we aren't yet so civilized that we say to an armed intrusder, "Would you be a jolly good chap and have a seat. We 'av called the constables, 'oo should be eer in the next few minutes. Cheers, chap. 'Ow 'bout those Queens Park Rangers?" This works in places where criminals understand their civic duty. Out here in the US, our criminals don't really care that much about their fellow Americans. Thus, we often arm outselves and usually feel justified in blowing away an armed intruder when there is a risk to person and not property. Hopefully someday we'll be like Europe, where even riots and mass murders are done in a socially reponsible way. My wife is hotter than your wife. As long as you pander to the crooks, they'll take advantage of it and push the limits even more.
