The best times in the USA were back when taxes were highest on the top earners in the country. Right now, taxes are at their lowest level, across the board, for everyone. Yet moron bastard shitheads are led to believe that taxes are TOO HIGH, and that TAX CUTS will make everything right. Cut all social services, borrow money from China to pay for the tax cuts, and the economy will recover. Reaganomics, assholes. That shit is voodoo economics. It doesn't work. We have been doing that for 30 years, and look where we are. The corporate media has gotten even educated people like lawrocket to start shitting on everyone who isn't rich. Lawrocket bought some property a few years ago. How'd that work out for you? Underwater much? Happy with the banking system and regulators? Didn't think so... Working people, either government or privately employed, have seen their real wages GO DOWN for the past 30 years, while the wealthiest people have had their incomes SKYROCKET, due to the tax policies implemented by the politicians that they buy like chattel. These same people control almost all of the media and get dumbasses, aka, the right wing sheeple, to support policies that are REALLY BAD for the dumbasses. The dumbasses keep lapping up the bullshitand regurgitating it. The dumbasses are incapable of digesting the material. They can't understand WHY things are the way they are. LOOK IN THE MIRROR, assholes. The fuckwits that think that screwing over public and private employees by reducing their wages and benefits are cutting ALL of our throats, not just the short term victims. You scumbags are driving the middle class in the USA off a cliff, happily and with great glee. For some reason the fact that YOU are going to be victims too, as society disintegrates, is completely beyond your ability to comprehend. You follow the corporate masters and screw over your fellow citizens, and appear to be rather proud of it. What the fuck is wrong with you assholes? Why do you hate the middle class and average people in the USA so much that you are willing to drive wages and benefits down so as to pay for TAX CUTS for corporations and the wealthy? Thanks for your hard work at ruining the USA. When your shit goes down the tubes you'll be standing there wondering how it happened. Medicare for ALL people in the USA was the correct answer to the health care nightmare. That "socialized medicine" system WORKS!!! It works really well, except for the money wasted keeping nearly dead people going for a few extra months. The USA is the only first world country that allows FOR PROFIT medical insurance companies to operate. Why do we let one third of the dollars spent on medical costs to disappear into the corporate pockets as profits and obscene salaries for executives? Because they have the money, own the politicians, and own the media outlets that fool people into thinking that we have a great system. You weasel shits that squawk about "SOCIALISM" can't even explain what it is. The explanations from the weasel shits make it sound like all government services are BAD. Fire services, police services, public roads, public parks, public beaches, and public schools are all examples of "SOCIALISM" that works. A single payer system that provided a basic level of medical care for ALL citizens, would save us all a ton of money. No more 30 pecent GONE in overhead and salaries. The "death panels" that whipped the RWCs into a frenzy are already in place. It is the bean counters at the insurance companies that are the "death panels". Their pay and bonuses depend on how many people are DENIED insurance coverage for medical conditions.

Back when women and minorities weren't part of the workforce? When the rest of the world was still rebuilding from war? But no, it's only the tax rate that matters. You missed everything lawrocket wrote there. when state or fed or city employees get a generous contract, it's the rest of the tax payers that pay for it, either in the form of higher income taxes, or sales taxes, or $62 parking tickets. dgm458 0 #23 July 3, 2011 QuoteSolution - tell the unions (which are corporations) to refund the dues money to these employees. After all, the unions are there for the workers, right? Ohhhh. Wrong. A union giving money to anyone but a politician? Not gonna happen. Most people who work in a union shop do so for the purpose of being represented by a union. I work in a union shop, we're right to work and we're 92% organized. That means that 92 out of 100 of our workers have chosen, voluntarily, to pay union dues to that evil union. I should point out that I am one of the 92% and wouldn't have it any other way. Why? Because I know that my elected leaders look out for my benefit, the benefit of my family and my workplace. They also negotiate fairly with my employer, especially when times are tough financially. Union's are responsible for the 8 hour work day, the 40 hour work week, vacation pay, sick time pay, etc. If those benchmarks weren't set by unions and their workers, the non-union employers would not be providing them today. They provide them to stay competitive and to keep the employees from voluntarily unionizing. Only individuals and political action committees can make direct contributions; unions are barred from donating treasury funds to a political campaign. In layman's terms that means they can't use my dues money that I VOLUNTARILY give for political uses. Instead, they have developed a Political Action Committee Fund (PAC). I voluntarily donate to that fund also. Why? Because I know that overall they work to educate members of Congress and support those that support me and my employer. Yes they sometimes donate some of my voluntarily given funds to a candidate that may support an issue that I'm not on board with but they still have my best interest in mind overall because my union doesn't take a stand on those hot topic issues such as gun control, abortion, gay marriage, etc. Quoteit's too bad you cannot see all sides of this. Is it safe to assume that you're a fan of Senator Tom Coburn? You seem to have a huge disdain for those employed by the United States Government. For years, the USG has been considered as a model employer for the private sector. Is everything perfect? Of course not. But you seem to advocate having a workforce that has no employer sponsored retirement program at all. Do you even know how government employees retirement works? For those hired after 1984 they have the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS). FERS is only 1/3 of their retirement package, with 1/3 being intended to come from the Thrift Savigns Plan (which carries a 5% employer matching contribution) and Social Security. So in the last four years, the GOP has attempted to attack 2/3 of this retirement program. Former President Bush wanted to privatize Social Security and turn it into a quasi-401K program. Now, Senator's Coburn (R-OK) and Richard Burr (R-NC) have proposed to completely eliminate FERS for new-hire government employees. In the end, the GOP would have government employees relying solely upon their Thrift Savings Plan, which I'm sure at some point in a GOP controlled future government would no longer have an employer matching contribution. So you're saying, "Hey, we appreciate the 30 years of service you've given to the United States Government. Here's you're last check and hopefully you've invested wisely in the Thrift Savings Plan (aka Stock Market) over the last 30 years. Yes, we know you're wife has cancer so another way to say thanks is we've increased your employee contribution to your health benefits plan too."-------------------------------------------------- Failure to prepare is preparing to fail

In the private sector, if pay and benefits out do what the company can support, the company goes under. There is an incentive to keep the budget balanced. In the public sector, the union will back what ever candidate will give them the biggest pay raise. Screw the tax payer. Most people only vote by name recognition anyway. Just get the name out there.
