Glenn Beck's Fox show dropped

Recommended Posts

Glen Beck wasn't too bad when he was on CNN. He was annoying but he didn't use the ridiculous props like he used on Fox. I watched him a few times on Fox and shut him off and have not watched him since. I won't miss him. But I am sure he will resurface in some point in time.

guess Rush remains the king, outlasting these flash in the pan types.

That's because there's a finite number of frightened white guys in pickups able to consume this delicious nonsense.

but why do they stick with Rush, despite his drug hypocrisy? He should be a washed up act by now, yet it's Beck that's being put out to pasture.

And how come the Left can't find a guy with that sort of staying power? Keith O sure wasn't the guy. The Stewart/Colbert duo have legs, but I see them as a bit more equal opportunity in who they will mock (whoever is in power).

Rush Limbaugh is a marketing genius. He will quit when he decides he's had enough.

Whether you like Glenn Beck or not, he speaks from his heart. People recognize that.

The right, or conservatives, look at a situation for what it is and attempt to do something.

The left, or liberals, look at a situation and make up an intellectual puzzle and attempt to persuade others that the government is the only answer to its solution.

By and large, people get lost in intellectual puzzles and they just don't give a crap.

Nonsense. He's the same type of self-marketer that Limbaugh is. Like Limbaugh, he has a product of tasty pablum that sells, and a consumer base who will lap it up. Nothing more, nothing less. As for "people recognize that", you're confusing belief with recognition.

No, I recognize that he is either:
a) Mentally unstable
b) Giving a performance

I suspect it is more likely "b".
He could very well be the political version of Marjoe Gortner: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marjoe_Gortner

Stewart/Colbert isn't left.....:S

they are comedy and probably more in line with libertarianism or at least wry/ironic common sense

Colbert is all over the map. The only method to his madness is that he is trying to be funny ... and it works. The guy is hilarious. Stewart is similar, but he does tend to go to bat for some Lefties issues. However he is still looking for laughs and in no way should ever be compared to true Lefties such as Overbite.

That's probably one of Stewarts strongest points as a commentator, in that he'll never try and pretend he doesn't lean pretty strongly to the left, but when the Dem's properly fuck up you can still be fairly sure he'll call them on it.

It's not equal, but it's not bad either.
