"Over the course of my career, I have witnessed the annual incremental lessening of dollars spent on employees while simultaneously seeing stratospheric rises in the compensation packages of the top management. "

You don't get it. If the people at the top tier of management make more money they then use that money to create new wealth, they never just accumulate monies. If you give it to middle management or workers they simply squander it thru spending. Which obviously crates nothing. Socialist.

It never ceases to amaze me that there are so many of you BEGGING for your little TRICKLE.. that actully BELIEVE the shit you write.:S:S:S:S

Pssst this forum is full of those with a McJob who really DO BELIEVE.. but at least they have job security. I do not see their jobs moving to Mexico since the people there are even worse off to be able to even afford anything off the dollar menu:S

Well, I'll have to check it out. I'm sure, our little ol' library has it... and I have a card!

I'm not going to sit here and say that the era I mentioned was the 'best' but for me, it wasn't all that bad. I enjoyed it, really. I didn't pay that much attention to politics or world affairs. I did watch the evening news. I took care of, what I could and didn't worry about what I couldn't. Pretty simple.

I can believe it. If you didn't get sucked into Vietnam, then the 1965-1975 era (when inflation started getting ugly) would kick ass.

I have to admit, the Viet Nam thing had me nervous. For one thing, I have never been able to handle humidity! I lost some friends and some of them who didn't come home in a box, were pretty tore-up. Something that really grabbed hold of me was the music! We were introduced to some really great British bands, Hendrix and all the rest. I didn't like the 'hippie thing', the dope damn sure didn't interest me. I had other choices. I was making good money and paying my bills. All in all, not a bad deal.

You know I find when politics is making my blood pressure rise, it's best to step away from it for a while. Politics is just not worth it. You will never please everyone all the time.

You know Canada is in the middle of an election right now. If the Liberals win (current polls say they won't, but the media is working extra hard to change these polls) you might want to consider moving to the lower mainland. The Liberals have taken a radical step to the left with their election platform and are pushing socialism like this country has never seen before. You might actually enjoy living in a society of "anti-business" high taxation, free healthcare ... if you don't mind waiting in line to get it and of course it won't be state of the art. But it will all be bliss because people don't need to care for their children any more. The Liberals have promised everyone that they will start raising everyone's children for them. It will be socialist nirvana if the Liberals succeed in their power grab. You might just like their brand of Kool Aid seeing as you are obviously not happy where you are.

Wherever did you get the idea that I was an atheist? I'm agnostic. Big difference. :P

Once again sometimes it is best to step away from politics when it is making you angry.

I have stepped away our campaign because it has taken a turn for the worst with the most wild accusations being tabled. The funniest thing though, no matter how hard the media tries to change people's opinions, the polls just show the front runners are made of teflon which of course causes the media to go even more viral to attempt to bring down the front runner. But once again the front runner remains the front runner. So the media goes even more viral, etc, etc, etc. It truly is comical what is going on up here right and it's just not worth it. They all suck... some just suck more than others. :o

If the Liberals do win, you really should consider moving here because in a few years they will drive all businesses out of the country, they will nationalize everything and we will be a Fabian Socialist State.

Oh ... LOL ... I just remembered why you can't move here. The Fabian Socialist Liberal Party of Canada will demand you turn over all your guns. They only want the criminals to be armed.

That's different. You were a tourist. They wanted you to spend money. It's different when you live here. You will need to register your firearms so that the gun grabbers will have a shopping list when the time is right. Did you know that the Liberals passed a law that allows the police to enter your home anytime they want without a search warrant if you happen to be a registered firearms owner. Thank you Alan Rock and the LPC for your Fabian Socialist Police State. :(

I think I am hijacking this thread. I really only came here to tell Amazon that getting mad about politics wasn't worth it.

To get back on topic, for me the best time to live in the USA was between 1998 and 2005. In fact 2005 was the best. I took the summer off and skydived full time that summer. B|

But all good things must come to an end and contrary to popular belief, I was NOT deported as some continue to insist I was. I voluntarily left. I may return one day, but right now it is cheaper for me to live where I am since my house is paid for and my only expenses are food, transportation, insurance, taxes and utilities (we get taken to the cleaners with our internet and utilities ... some of the highest in the world).

According to the people who follow the flying spaghetti monster I am going to hell. But that is just a risk I am going to have to take. You see the universe is a very big place and if we are alone as the flying spaghetti monster's book says we are, it is an awful waste of space. At least in hell I will have some company.

During my lifetime, I'd have to say the 50s and the early 60s....before drugs took over.

But then on the other hand, the late 60s and the 70s kicked ass from what I remember.
:)

But overall, I think I would have been happier in the late 1800s...gaslight era and all that.
Daisy, Daisy,
Give me your answer do.
I'm half crazy
All for the love of you.

It won't be a stylish marriage
I can't afford a carriage,

But you'll look sweet,
Upon the seat
Of a bicycle built for two.

My reality and yours are quite different.
I think we're all Bozos on this bus.
