More stupidity from PETA

Recommended Posts

anthropomorphising food is silly as well, but that's pretty minor compared to some of the arguments we see on the two sides of the debate

I love it when one side can only see the nuttiness of the other side but not their own. Great for trail mix, not so much for subjective debate. Great for speaker's corner too.

eating meat is a choice - pick one, pick the other, I don't really care why

Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants

Even better when someone takes a side and ridicules others for doing the same.

and then 4 years later everyone switches arguments....:D

We had many house plants and we had 1 cat.

My wife would talk to the plants and talk to the cat.

Funny thing was that she got more response out of the plants than the cat.

ME? I tried to convince her that we should eat both the plants AND the cat.
My reality and yours are quite different.
I think we're all Bozos on this bus.

There's nothing wrong with assigning human traits to animals if its based upon sounds evidence. The idea that animals feel paign and even have emotional lives is based upon well documented evidence. Animals have brains, they have nocireceptors, thhey exhibit behaviours which are consitent with emotions. if you would like some documentation for this I can reccomend you "the Expression of the Emotions in Man and Animals" by Charles Darwin or Anyhtining by Professor Marc Bekoff or just stay up to date with research in ethology.

Do potatoes have brains and nocireceptors?

No, but they have chemical responses to stress and injury. I'm definitely not saying this as any counter to anyone with a dog in this...chat. But if you're thinking about how life on this planet formed and how it relates to how we define ourselves then it's more of a coincidence that we are what we are. If life had evolved differently, say on a different planet under different circumstances, then we could very well have ended up not having noreceptors and relying on chemical responses rather than micro-electric responses.

But, we're animals. We have evolved from animals that eat other animals as part of their diet. We've also evolved the brains to harvest or pen more of an unnatural diet than we should, whether it be cow or corn, for the mere fact that it's cheap and easy.

A chemical response is not in any way equivalent to having the emergent properties of a brain has. Such a comparson is riduclous. All our other primate relatives rarely if ever eat meat. We dont know aboout our most recent common ancestor but that fact alone puts your statemnt into considerable doubt. Even if it were true so what? We also evolved from mammals that msot likely were nocturnal during earlier epochs, does that mean we should be nocturnal?

and yet, we won

(not that it has bearing on a contemporary discussion of diet, but it likely played a role in getting us here)

pops - potatoes are people too

I tortured a potato the other night...peeled the skin right off it while it was still alive.

Do I need to hide out from all plant's rights groups?

I peeled an onion the other day. It made me cry. Will that get me off the hook?

Nice Hottie, but did anyone see the clip at the end? It would take a real sociopathic piece of absolute trash to not feel for the animals who were being, "processed." That burger you eat, that ham you eat is a product of that sufferring. Poor animals wanting a chance to live, to love pay for it with more than their life, they pay with a horrible sufferring followed by a horrible and painful death as they are hung by their legs, allow the blood to rush to their head and then have their throat slit. I imagine several on here feel nothing after watching that and I am addressing you as pathetic, worthless sociopath.

I accept! Pass the Chile! Pass the Burgers - and My favorite is VEAL. Yummy - yummy Veal.

GTF Over it.

And you're in gross denial that meat is not torture.

I thought it was murder? Damn, I can never keep up with with what the fruits-n-NUTS crowd is calling it this week.

Leave it to Mike to poke fun at and trivialize the sufferring of indefensable animals. I come here to revel in the humans I get to share this planet with.

LMAO - Ever heard of survival of the fittest? You proclaim that evolution not creation put us where we are.

You suggest and advocate the killing of defenseless plants though don't you? Only a sociopathic killer could allow or condone anyone to kill a helpless defenseless plant! HOW DARE YOU!

Actually, yes. If all of you meat-eaters would commit to only eating vegetarians, life would be pretty good!

So, I received an email today asking if I was "the sexiest vegetarian next door".

I scrolled through the entries and could not help but laugh at this particular entry. Vote away boys! :D:D:D
