It is indeed a pity that Bush and his apologists spent so long denying the existence of the recession that started in December 2007.
If you can't fix it with a hammer, the problem's electrical.

>is working for ya?

Working fine for me.

>gasoline price ..its up

Good! Nothing will do more to help us in the long run than higher gas prices.

>Tax.................it up

Nope, sorry, it's down. 97% of US households got a tax cut under the stimulus bill. Most republicans have been reduced to complaining that's it's not big enough.

Note that when you get your facts wrong, and can't even spell the names of the people you're attacking, people may not take your posts seriously.

One year ago today the average price of gasoline was $4.12/gal. Today it is $2.61

One year ago today the $US was worth .634Euro
Today the $US is worth .709Euro

One year ago today the $US was worth .507 UK pounds
Today the $US is worth .607 UK pounds

Looks like namgrunt is just plain WRONG.

Comparing today with exactly one year ago is perfectly normal practice. I'll compare tomorrow with July 2, 2008 if you like, or yesterday with June 30, 2008

What if we compare it to the day before GWB took office? Wouldn't that show us where the real issue was?

Ok... lets do this one then:

30 years ago a gallon of gas cost $.86 (inflation adjusted is $2.52) I filled up yesterday for $2.54
30 years ago a stamp was $,15 ( inflation adjusted is $.44) Current price of a stamp is $.44
30 years ago the dollar traded for 0.4303 Pounds. Today it is 0.60 pounds
Yesterday is history
And tomorrow is a mystery

So Obama's tax cut is no good because an imaginary tax cut would have been better? Man, you guys are really grasping at straws lately.

It is, but it's also a bit convenient, given the sharp decline in the dollar over the past two months. It peaked in the Fall/Spring, and has given up half its gain. The massive deficit is the most significant culprit.

Does the fact that our President is a "darkey" bother you ? Even though he's educated and doesn't speak Ebonic ? Sounds to me like that's your bottom line.

Oh, just fyi, their names are Pelosi and Reid.

Recheck your math, Bill. It's far from correct and you know better. 97% of Americans do not have a Federal income tax liability - it's far less than that; not even 50%. It is impossible to give a tax cut to someone who has no tax liability.

The media of course, will never call the left on this chicanery.

I'm actually curious why people think that the "Obamer" monicker is racist.

Well, I think Tom was reacting more to the OP's remark, "shore wish I was black,in a union,on food stamps, getting a gov. check"

Well it does seem to make life easier when you have those things and don't want to work.

Sure, but the OP's post quoted here is hardly restricted to those on food stamps and getting a government check. It was a clearly racist comment; and people who want to respond to my saying so openly by shouting "Race card!!" at me can stick it up their ass.
