Major Elizabeth Rouse, pathologist with the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington DC, states that the cause of death was "blunt-force injuries to lower extremities complicating coronary artery disease".

In August 2005, lead interrogator Specialist Glendale Wells of the US army pleaded guilty at a military court to pushing Dilawar against a wall and doing nothing to prevent other soldiers from abusing him. Wells was subsequently sentenced to two months in a military prison. Two other soldiers convicted in connection with the case escaped custodial sentences. The sentences were criticized by Human Rights Watch

>its war. its not right.

"It's war" was not an excuse for 9/11. It's not an excuse to cut people's heads off, blow people up in farmer's markets, or torture people to death. We should treat people (even people we capture) as we have agreed to treat them, and we should expect others to do the same. If we can't be bothered, we have no right to expect others to do so.

i agree. its not right. our enemies can't fight us conventionaly, so they will continue to fly planes into buildings, strapping bombs to themselves and beheading us.
there are military rules in place, for us and the prisoners we capture. are they followed all the time? no. are those people punished? not enough.
how do we fix? pull out, so we can't kill and torture.
then they will be the only ones doing wrong. killing us.

I think it would make some happy if we could get the ACLU involved....:S

It would make me happy if the next administration repudiates the Bush doctrine and declares that the USA will abide by the Geneva Conventions.

bush haters, look for any and all stones to throw at him. even if those issues are something he or his administration are not responsible for. are there prisoner of war mistreatments? yes. i think the nature of the enemy, terrorists not prisoners of war from a specific country affect judgement on how to treat them. torture is still not right, but i don't think its as widespread as the dems try make it. i don't like republicans or democrats. both parties lie and back stab each other. the country needs additional party or parties. never happen because the dems and reps can raise so much money, another party has no chance.

>I don't see the abuse

Imagine a US soldier is beaten to death in a Taliban cell. Will you still not "see the abuse?" Or is it only abuse when our guys are beaten to death?

I didn't see anything about anybody being beaten much less to death.
Why should the enemy be given better treatment than what our soldiers are having to endure?
How horrible that they were strip of their clothes!?!?!?!? That is something done here in our own prisons as there is no other way to ensure that they have no weapons or can create weapons or even hang themselves with their own clothes. Some of the enemy we are talking about here is suicidal. This is war!
Do you know what is also considered torture? Making prisoners listen to a loud recording of a crying baby day after day, spraying them with cold water, shining a bright light at them and yelling......oh the humanity!
Lets get real people. They have killed people in war. Why should they be given better treatment than not only our soldiers but even the people of the country they are fighting in....or even many people here without jobs or the children without parents in the system?

Aren't you the devout Christian that spends most of his posts arguing for the validity of the Bible? You might want to go back and read it.

You know, the Golden Rule, love thy neighbor, thou shalt not kill.

"They're baddies," is not an excuse to be a baddie yourself.

I can't believe I have to explain something so simple.
