Roll call - leaving the US if Obama is elected

Recommended Posts

Recently BillyVance posted the picture below, suggesting people would leave the US if Obama got elected. So let's see who really has the courage of their convictions. Post here if you plan to leave. So far WarpedSkydiver has been making noises about some tropical location, MikeForsythe said he would prefer the Carribean, and BillyVance seems to be hinting about Canada. Anyone else?

In the picture it says "Welcome to Canada". Somehow I think the people making all the noise would find life in Canada far more intolerable.....since most of them prattle on and on about socialism whenever they invoke the name of Obama.

I would think they would be far more at home in Central and South American military dictatorships with right wing death squads to get rid of those pesky "leftists".

I'm thinking Thailand but I would never credit Obama with such a positive change in my life.

Bangkok? Or somewhere further south?

Well, with less than a month to go and a 25% chance of 60 Dems in the Senate and a 90% chance of Obama winning with ~368 electoral votes as per 538.com's 1000 simulations......

They better get moving soon.

And I agree with Amazon...why no bathing suit pics or at least a pic of you?

I am of the opinion there should NEVER be beach pictures posted without bathing suit pictures. How the hell am I supposed to check on possible vacation destinations without enticing cabana boy shots to judge how well they grow in any given area.

Don't worry...I'm not in there.

Uh I prefer the wild ones... in their natural environment, not the domesticated ones that have been spoiled by contact with western society.

And which coutry do you dumbasses think will take you, and what will you be living off? Asylum seekers subsidy from a local government? The local church? John McCain will surely not send you his money, cause his $100,000,000.00 of three weeks ago probably ain't worth half of that today. Still that's probably 50,000,000.00 more than you capitalists are worth

Such a horrid combination of which you speak. What a nightmare.

I don't think many conservatives will be leaving the nation. We made too much fun of dumbfuck liberals for promising to do so and not following through (unfortunately).

I'm not planning on it, but my wife is a Japanese citizen, so we're covered...just in case...:P

So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life

i'm not going anywhere. while i disagree with the direction obama and a democratic congress will lead us, i still think this will be the best place in the world to raise my family. besides, if its really that bad, americans will give the house and senate back to the republicans in two years.

This is neat. I'm trying to think of anyone I know or heard of who claimed that he or she would leave the country if Dukakis, Clinton, Gore or Kerry won. I do recall that there were some celebrities who claimed that they would but did not. Pierre Salinger actually kept his word.

It's interesting. I view Obama as less of a threat to business and liberties than Gore and Kerry.

That last sentence is part of why the US is such a great country. We have a very stable set of institutions, and they work.
