?? Answering questions is an interview. Having a dialog with someone else is what makes it a debate.

One of the things I was impressed with during Lehrer's debate was that he kept saying things like "please say that to Senator Obama" to try to get them more engaged in each other, as opposed to delivering the prewritten campaign speeches we've all heard dozens of times.

Right, that's what I was getting at. I've never seen that in a debate before, but it was refreshing. I don;t think McCain once directed anything at Obama, hell, he couldn't bring himself to look at him.

I've seen several polls that have Biden picked to win by about 5%. I find it interesting the public only has Palin down 5% to a 20+yr veteran of the senate.

BTW, I don't know what Presidential poll you're keeping track of, but in the 3 day rolling average Gallup that MoE is + or - 2%. That has nothing to do with a "spread" but rather a statistical analysis of data gathering.

With all due respect to all Joe Sixpacks - we are interviewing for the most important position in this nation. We are the guys making the decision about our future and the future of next generations of Americans. If you want to elect a Joe Sixpack to the VP office forget sister Sarah, go the the nearest gas station in D.C. elect the dude who is manager in charge of the shift and spare yourself the relocation expenses for Sister Sarah, Todd, Trig, Clutch, her unborn child, her unwed boyfriend and his dog, Armoir, Tire and Saddle as well as their moose and snow mobile.
