Answering questions is an interview. Having a dialog with someone else is what makes it a debate. One of the things I was impressed with during Lehrer's debate was that he kept saying things like "please say that to Senator Obama" to try to get them more engaged in each other, as opposed to delivering the prewritten campaign speeches we've all heard dozens of times. Right, that's what I was getting at. I've never seen that in a debate before, but it was refreshing. I don;t think McCain once directed anything at Obama, hell, he couldn't bring himself to look at him.

FallingOsh 0 #128 October 2, 2008 I've seen several polls that have Biden picked to win by about 5%. I find it interesting the public only has Palin down 5% to a 20+yr veteran of the senate. These are pretty funny. http://lateshow.cbs.com/latenight/lateshow/top_ten/index/php/20081001.phtml -------------------------------------------------- Stay positive and love your life. However, margin of error in one has nothing to do with margin of error with the other. BTW, I don't know what Presidential poll you're keeping track of, but in the 3 day rolling average Gallup that MoE is + or - 2%. That has nothing to do with a "spread" but rather a statistical analysis of data gathering.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

You don't have any money. Nor any resources to speak off. On top of that, caring only about money is exactly what has gotten you in this mess. (And what an incredible irony that the US under a Republican president is about to socialize the financial market in the US)
rushmc 18 #133 October 2, 2008 QuoteSarah Palin (or Parahsalin as I like to call her in the sporting spirit) is dumber than a box of Q-Tips. Now let me elaborate on that statement: 1. She lacks the curiosity of the world that one would expect of a world class politician and leader. She just does not want to know about issues other than her immediate vicinity offers her. 2. She is intelectually lazy - her statements about papers she reads ("All of them they give me"), or about Supreme Court cases other than Roe v. Wade that she disagrees with ("well...all this stuff can be dealt with at a local level" - I guess she thinks the Supreme Court is useless) show a person who is not competent to run a country. I am sure that she was a great PTA member, but what I want from this countrys leader is the ability and desire to comprehend the world. Based on this understanding of the global enviromnent, educated wise decisions pertaining to issues internal to our country can be made. I want us to take back our leadership positon in the world. We can not do that if we have an undereducated spoiled 72 year old brat as president and a "gun totin' moose eatin' snow mobile ridin' will have to get back to ya' 'bout that question Charlie" female version of Joe Sixpack as VP/soon to be President. With all due respect to all Joe Sixpacks - we are interviewing for the most important position in this nation. We are the guys making the decision about our future and the future of next generations of Americans. If you want to elect a Joe Sixpack to the VP office forget sister Sarah, go the the nearest gas station in D.C. elect the dude who is manager in charge of the shift and spare yourself the relocation expenses for Sister Sarah, Todd, Trig, Clutch, her unborn child, her unwed boyfriend and his dog, Armoir, Tire and Saddle as well as their moose and snow mobile. grimmie 173 #135 October 2, 2008 How sad and pathetic is it for the VP candidate of the GOP to go into her first debate with these low expectations? She just needs to be herself. Biden can't look like he knows more than her. She will have "cute" answers. Biden can't be condesending, or appear to be. Pathetic, really. She has to cram a lot at the ranch in AZ to be up to speed on the issues. I guess so. She's clueless. I would love to see Biden expose her lack of knowledge about the world, US policy, the Constitution and anything else not "Alaskan. He should verbally gut her like a dead moose. But no, treat her with kid gloves Joe. We wouldn't want to make her look bad. What the fuck sort of debate is this? Like little kids sports? Everyone gets a trophy??? She could very well be the next President of the US of A., but people don't want her to be made to look bad in the debate. That scares me a LOT. RushMC, first line: " . . . this should give you an idea how fucked up a canidate Obama is?" Shit hurts when its thrown back in your face huh! But, to follow, I think Obama is a racist bigot. A pure socialist that looks down his nose at anybody that does not agree with him. Much like many of his supporters on this site. He supports big government while he beleives that laws, rules and fair play are not things he has to abide by because he knows what is best for the rest of us (ie, those who do not agree with him) He will remove (when he can, and he has proven he can) any compitition by any means he can find. He will support and be a lawyer for groups like ACORN who have been proven to be anti free speach, illeagal voting registration zelots, that court people like Obama to gain favor AND money to support thier socitaist causes. He cant speak with out a teleprompter (which is proving on a daily basis) and knows he can say anything he wants, when he wants because the pro Obama media will not call him on his lies and record. He is a liar as proven by what he says about his associations with his terroist buddy, his priest of 25 years and his advisors (Johnson and Reines) He does not represent change, he represents the same old tired Democratic scare tactics that I have seen for the last 20 years. He flips and flops daily (depending on his who he speaks to and, as he demonstrates, usually cant remember what he said yesterday. And when he does remember, he says, ah, well ah, that is, ah not, ah really acurate cause , ah, what I really meant was ah (then on to the next lie) He is inexperienced as anybody who has ever run for office and it will take a gerneration to fix the socialism he want to install in this country Will he destroy the US? NO, this country is stronger than him but, all the other countries will like us because of him. Why? cause he will give our money away to them in the guise of global friendship. He will destroy the second amendment a give as much government control as he can over business under the prestense of the evil corportation. No matter how much anybody disagrees with Palin, one thing she is not, is stupid. Suffer in your own tactics sir, I for one am tired of them. HE IS a fucked up canidate. I would vote for Hillary before I would vote for him. So, some of the lefty hate thrown back in your face. It is unclear whether the word has always been considered vulgar, and if not, when it first came to be used to describe (often in an extremely angry, hostile or belligerent manner) unpleasant circumstances or people in an intentionally offensive way, such as in the term motherfucker, one of its more common usages in some parts of the English-speaking world
