believe me if there were a modern frontier i'd be on it in a heartbeat, if for no other reason than to get the hell away from anyone who thinks they know best how i should live my life..

unfortunately there is not, but i'd be right up on the Mars list even if they were accepting applications. To paraphrase Heinlein "when a government decides its time to require licenses for such basic needs as transportation, it is time to leave"

So the fact that the average American and the Politicians they elect no longer have much concern for the rights and liberties espoused in our Founding Documents doesnt seem to concern you??

You act like this is something new... and where have I said it doesn't concern me? I write my congresscritters and let them know how I feel on issues and how I expect them to vote (like, I'm sure, many other voters do).

I see much more political debate about various positions and issues on conservative websites than I do on liberal sites - they seem to be a much more monolithic block, as far as political beliefs go. I've also seen a lot less tolerance on liberal sites for views that differ from the 'mainstream'.

I think I know what I am (besides being a tad crazy ). I am a fiscal conservative and someone who sits somewhere near the center when it comes to social issues. I think that makes me a Libertarian.
