They come here to participate in our commerce so play by the established rules.

They are playing by the established rules, unitl a law makes it illegal to accept foreign currency.

I'm actually going to say it's not OK. I don't think it should neccessarily be illegal, but not ok and I won't eat there.

Wow, the one issue you and I change sides on....Someone mark this second down in time.

I would agree if it were the GOV. I think all GOV business should be done in English and dollars...But a private business can do as they please.

And here I foolishly thought they were governed by:

- State labor boards

- NLRB

- Federal wage laws

- Affirmative action (in cases of discrimination)

- OSHA

- State and federal wage laws

- FMLA

- And tons of case law

- Many that I'm missing..........

WOW, I guess they can do what they want :S

None of which addresses accepting foreign currency.

As of this posting, there are 13 people who voted No. Hopefully some of them (in addition to you) will post their reasons why.

Well, actually not, since the word used was, "illegals."

You are assuming that the only people that have pesos to spend are illegal, that just isn't true.

Sorry, I assumed you would understand that "they can do as they please" was in reference to taking whatever they want in payment provided it was legal.

None of your list of arguments involves currency as an issue.

So care to try again?
