Robert Burns was a famous mason, he wrote this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Man's_A_Man_for_A'_That And this: THE FORNICATER - Robert Burns. TUNE,-Clout the Cauldron. YOU Jovial boys who love the joys, The blessfu' joys of lovers; An' dare avow't wi daintless brow, Whate'er the lass discovers; I pray draw near, and you shall hear, An' welcome in a frater, I've lately been on quarintine, A proven Fornicator. Before the congregation wide, I past the muster fairly; My handsome Betsey by my side, We gat our ditty rarely. [ 3 ] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [ 4 ] My downcast eye, by chance did spy, What made my mouth to water, Those lambs sae clean, where I between Commencèd Fornicator. Wi' ruefu' face and signs o' grace, I paid the buttock hire; The night was dark, and thro the park I cou'dna but convoy her; A parting kiss, what cou'd I less, My vows began to scatter; Sweet Betsey fell, fal lal de ral! I am a Fornicator. But, by the sun an' moon I swear, An' I'll fulfil ilk hair o't, That while I own a single crown, She's welcome to a share o't; My rogish boy, his mother's joy, An' darling of his pater, I for his sake the name will take, A harden'd Fornicator. Burns also wrote songs called "Nine Inch Will Please a Lady," and "Nae Hair On't,"... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. Clownburner 0 #30 October 3, 2006 An interesting note is that a lot of the language of the founding documents (Constitution, Declaration of Independence, etc) is taken verbatim from Masonic ritual. Not surprising, since many of the founding fathers were masons themselves, but it goes to show, I think that a lot of the core masonic values, such as freedom, liberty, and the right to governmental non-interference, are things most modern people also find valuable. Or should. 7CP#1 | BTR#2 | Payaso en fuego Rodriguez "I want hot chicks in my boobies!"- McBeth
dorbie 0 #31 October 4, 2006 I chose the first example in this context for a reason. I don't know why you want to add noise to the signal. Another of my favorites is "Holy Willie's Prayer" but the intent is not to exalt the pious. Burns was a carousing Ayrshire lad, it's satisfying to remember that, especially when someone in a starched collar is singing Burns in a posh well trained singing voice with an anglified accent in front of room of gentlemen. moodyskydiver 0 #33 October 4, 2006 QuoteMasons...Shriners... Actually the Shriners are a degree of Masonry,so you might as well lump them together as one. QuoteWhat do you know and what do you have to say about it? I know enough. My grandfather was a Mason. He was a very honest, honerable, integral and loving man and I do not see him joining a "suspicious bunch".If it was good enough for him, its good enough for me.I'm currently in the process of joining the Eastern Star, an auxiliary group of the Masons predominately for women.Would you like to add them to your list? If you honestly want to know about them, rather than getting more ghost stories from those who like a good conspiracy theory, why dont you go to the source and find out the truth for yourself.Go talk to a Mason or here ya go, a database of all the grand lodges in the US complete with web addresses for each.Pick you state and have a look.Grand Lodges of the US "...just an earthbound misfit, I."
