should Hillary run?

Recommended Posts

Not only should she run, if she does I will contribute money to her campaign to insure she wins. I think she will win the Dem. Primary and then be soundly beaten either by McCain or some other dark horse out of the RNC. I don't think anyone honestly thinks she will win except a few ultra-left-wing fanatical groups. Remember, she supported the Iraqi War.

Expect to hear the word "Brittleness" often if she runs.

one thing either party can learn from the past decades is

** senators don't win presidential elections - governors do. **

only JFK managed to disprove the rule and only very narrowly so

hope the dems go for someone like Warner, Rendell or Vilsack

If the Rep. run someone like Schwartzenager (highly unlikely) and the Dems run a moderate like Warner, Warner will get my vote.

Schwarzenegger cannot run as he was not born in the U.S.

As for Hillary winning in New York, if you remember, it was originally Hillary vs. Giuliani. Guiliani dropped out late in the game due to his prostate cancer. This brought in Lazio who had no chance at beating Hillary.

Ahnold can't run. Not a natural born American citizen. Hell a few years ago there were questions about McCain, I think. Born in Panama to American parents but not born in America, like two of my own kids. One of whom wants to be a politician, where did I go wrong?

i believe we had enough of the country being run by
academic theory and ideology. There's a dire need for
a more pragmatic approach and those would be bad
choice from this point of view.

Sure, why not ? It would settle the "will she run ?" question for starters. She's definitely not a knock kneed "closet Republican" type of Democrat, and she's not afraid of flinging a hatchet or two in a good political fight.

As for running for VP, she won't do it, it would be a joke. It's all the way or nothing. She would for sure be a "serious" woman candidate, love her or hate her you can't ignore her, she's not some fringe weirdo like Ralph Nader.

The voters will decide. She could just win it. Or not. Guess we'll never know until she runs. Not sure if I'd vote for her or not (aw heck, I probably would), but I think she should definitely run.

Besides, who are the Reptilians going to run, Jeb ???

Ya'll gotta get the newest bumper sticker from NYC.

Run Hillary Run

Democrats put it on the back bumper.
Republicans put it on the front bumper.

I don't think Jeb will get there, I just don't see it.

The major stumbling block for Jeb is age. He just looks like the goofy kid who delivers the newspaper.

He has a lot of stuff in his favor.
- He is married to a Hispanic woman and they have a son who appeals to the younger crowd.
- He handles emergencies/hurricanes/etc with good media presence.
- He supported the 10/20/life gun legislation that has reduced crime in Florida.
- He is into the Florida "lifestyle" in a way. Clean water, environmental initiatives for non-polluting cars.
- He doesn't try to be Mr Charming or play the sax to be cool.

Jeb seems to reflect the opinions of the general populace. He doesn't screw up a lot. People generally like him.

It is going to be interesting how he handles the Gulf of Mexico drilling issue, given his relations.

Giulliani. .

a guy that never made it beyond the municipal level of gvt
and that of a city whose electorate is hardly representative
of any other part of the country.

The dems will have field day with this one ...

What is it that you particularly dislike about him?
Just curious. Does he have a policy that upsets you?

I've read a few of the initiatives on the state website and they seem like good ideas. He has funded his plans, implemented them, and there is some feedback on the progress. I respect that.

That was the major issue that I had with Kerry. Nothing but vague generalities that could never be defined enough to implement. The do-nothing plan.

Jeb has the normal funding issues that will always create factional disputes, but that's his day job to sort it out.

People will go on and on about how "enlightened" they are. How they are not "narrow-minded". Then someone mentions (insert political figure) ... let the alarm-bells begin ringing and the knees jerking...

I've lived in Florida all my life. I've gone through the good and the very bad. Jeb seems to do an ok job.
