I can barely believe it -- MORONS are actually SENDING MARTHA STEWART *MONEY*!!

Recommended Posts

Man, there are some really fuckin' dumb people in this world!

People are actually sending Martha Stewart money and gifts while she's in prison -- as if she fuckin' needs money with like a personal worth of $300 million!!

I can just imagine, these people are probably squeaking by, and Martha's their idol, and they're acting like Jerry Falwell just told them the devil's gonna take him if they don't send in a check.

What the fuck do they think Martha Stewart needs their money for?!

maybe so she can payoff the diesel dykes in the joint and keep from being molested?!?;)

Um, my point is that she has plenty of her own money and does not need financial help of any sort, from anybody!

So these people are essentially making themselves out to be chumps by giving her their own money, when, ahh, chances are they are not worth hundreds of millions of dollars, as she is.

So are you just finding this out ? Welcome to America. I live in Orange County and we have the Trinity Broadcast Network right out on I-405. That place makes Saddam's Palaces look like a Motel 6. How do they do it ? With their millions & millions ? Heck no, people send them money.

Money won't buy your way into heaven, but there are always people who think it will. Maybe I should send Martha a good bottle of cognac.

Dude, you're thinking of Oral Roberts. Besides it wasn't Satan that was threatening to off him but God. At least that's what Oral said. :)
FWIW, if Martha's prision is like the ones in OK, you do not have access to your personal wealth. the only money you get is what you earn at your nickle an hour job or what people send to you.

That article (check the link) said that she is allowed to spend up to X amount ($290 or something) per month in the prison commissary. So yeah, she can't go rolling waterbeds into her cell or stuff like that, and can't order in from The Four Seasons...

Too bad.

Kerry and Bush are wealthy too, but lots of people send them money.

Because they aren't allowed to use strictly their own money for the campaigns.

Nice apples and oranges comparison.

I think someone said earlier in this thread that Martha couldn't use her own money either, so it's back to apples and apples.

But yet you post your opinions as facts.

Good job.

I take it from your reply that you do have personal familiarity with the inside of prisons.:o

I think it's wrong that the government says that a person who wishes to be elected to public office cannot use his own wealth to advertise his candidacy.

I'd like to see someone articulate the "good reasons" for this policy, since if the concern is that the guy will offer people money in exchange for voting for him, well, we already have laws against offering things in exchange for a vote. And if the goal is to keep money out of politics, well, what difference does it make whether a guy spends his own money on a campaign or gets tens of millions of dollars (or is it hundreds of millions of dollars nowadays?!) given to him to use in the same way he'd have used his own money?
