Infinity I-54 main canopy sizes

Recommended Posts

Me 210lbs, 6'2". Considering buying a used 2001 VSE Infinity I-54 container. The harness is a fit. It's got an older 190 spectre in it now which is not on the recommended list. I have messaged with VSE and have their list of main sizes. Just curious about being able to fit a 210-220 main.

Has anybody packed a larger main canopy into an infinity I-54 than what is recommended? Which chute? How well did it pack? Thoughts?

What reserve does the container you're thinking about buying have in it? What can it fit?

Remember, it's not just the main canopy that you should consider when deciding whether that rig is a good choice for your size and experience level. It'd suck to be low on a canopy you've never jumped, and over a sketchy landing area...and that's a very plausible scenario to end up in under your reserve.

Well as it turns out.. I have fit a PD Pulse 230ft2 into the I-54. It previously had a 7cell spectre 190ft2. The pulse hybrid has a smaller pack volume, as Kelly stated earlier, and fits quite well. I can go from a 230ft2 main down to a 150ft2 now, all in the same container. I will probably not go that small but according to original specs this seems possible.
