vikki_b 0 #1 May 22, 2007 Hi, my friend with muscular dystrophy and myself would like to do a charity tandem skydive. How can we find out if this is safe and indeed possible. Do you know of any organisations which specialise in people with physical disabilities in the south east England or where we can start to look into this? Thanks. tetra316 0 #2 May 24, 2007 It would definitely depend on how advanced the md is. One of my best friends has md to the point where if her head or body leans to far forward she cannot upright herself. I would think the lack of muscle would allow the body to bend at unnatural angles and breaks would more easily happen since they cannot undo the bending without assistance. The wind would just push the body around and break it since there is no/not enough muscle to resist the wind. I don't know about other stages of md but that would be my concern. Then again I might have no idea what I'm talking about
