Insulin pumping jumpers

Recommended Posts

I'm diabetic since 1992, using a pump for 2 years and counting (www.insulin-pumpers.org helped me get my life back), soon to be a one-jump-skydiver.
Where do you wear the pump when you're jumping? Does it ever get in the way of the straps? Do you change your basal rate before the jump?
Do your sugars tend to rise or fall during the jump?
If you jump without your pump do you go high?

Just curious :$

I'm a pumper. I'm still a student so I wear mine on my belt under the jumpsuit. When I'm practicing my dirt dives I wear mine on my side. I move it around to my front before I rig up so the straps don't ride over it. So far it's worked well. I also make sure my BG is over 120 before I jump.
