LOWER BODY INJURYS

Recommended Posts

PLEASE HELP!! I AM DYING TO START THE SPORT OF SKYDIVING. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS 3 YRS AGO I HAD A CAR ACCIDENT LEAVING 1 OF MY ANKLES WITH LITTLE MOVEMENT. I HAVE ALSO HAD TO GROW 9CM OF NEW BONE USING A FRAME. MY LEG IS FINE NOW ITS JUST MY ANKLE.
THE ONLE THING IM WORRIED ABOUT IS HOW HARD YOU LAND?? DO YOU COME IN VERY FAST?
I CAN JOG FOR LITTLE PERIODS, DO YOU THINK I WILL BE ABLE TO DO SKYDIVING?? I CAN TAKE A LOT OF IMPACT THROUGH THE ANKLE ( I HAVE BEEN PRACTICING JUMPING OFF STAIRS)
I HAVE HEARD THAT THERE ARE LOTS OF PEOPLE WITH INJURYS DO SKYDIVING?

You might want to turn your caps lock off...

I've got limited flexibility (probably not so bad as yours, but I'm not sure) in my right ankle (I've got around 13 screws, due to a BASE accident). It doesn't really create any problems for me.

As was said above, if you're using big student gear, landings can be very slow--about as hard as stepping down off a chair, perhaps.

If you can jog (I can't), I'd say you'll have no problems with skydiving.

I'd also like to add to make sure you have a big enough reserve, since you won't always be landing under your main.

hey
if they srteched your bone a touch, and you can jog a bit and can land on it, with out it going "crack"
Give it a go. discuss it with your DZO and instructor and I am sure they will get you on the ground safetly
