shuffle 0 #1 June 1, 2015 appreciate any help I can get Trying to figure out which unit of measurements they are using. It says L(3-7-7-3) on the rig, and according to the manual it goes (main - chest - lumbar - legstrap). Guessing by "main" they mean the MLW, so what are they measuring in? feet, inches, cm? The latter seems to small and the first seems to big, and in inches? That can´t be..
riggerrob 635 #2 June 2, 2015 I suspect they are measuring in centimetres and I suspect that Parachutes de France marks harnesses similar to the way Mirage marks harnesses. Mirage starts with a stock harness size, then adds or subtracts a few units (inches or centimetres) to fit a specific customer.
Alexis_C 0 #3 June 9, 2015 As far as I know, the numbers are not measurements in inches or centimeters but indicate a range. For instance, for the "chest" number (2nd number), the meaning could be: - 1 between 80cm and 90cm - 2 between 90cm and 100cm - 3 between 100cm and 110cm - etc. I don't know the actual ranges, but you get the idea. My understanding is that a standard size harness has all identical numbers: L 1-1-1-1 is a standard "S" size harness L 2-2-2-2 is a standard "M" size harness L 3-3-3-3 is a standard "L" size harness L 3-7-7-3 would be a "L" size harness for someone with a broad chest, a long torso and average thighs.
