I usually have cell signal up until jump altitude. could just phone your homie and use a hands free kit with the mic in the helmet and the phone in the jumpsuit pocket ?

I mean.....unlimited minutes right ?
Better be on the ground wishing you were up there than being up there wishing you were on the ground.

I have tested the one I have. It's a $99 setup including shipping.
It claims to have 1200 m range.
We could talk when I was at 900 m and the other person on the ground. (Was not directly above either)
It might have worked at a longer range but 900 m was when I was under canopy and we paired the devices.
When used at more than 6-700 m the sound has a "digital sound". Usable most of the time but sometimes you can't hear.

Sound was ok, little low. But mine is mounted behind the padding so there is room for improvements.
There was no windnoise at all. If you didn't know it you would think the other person was on the ground or indoors.

Sometimes it's hard to connect it to the other device and it needs to be turned off and then tuned on to work, but most of the times you just push a button.

Used it a few times with both devices in the air and it worked fine.
Nothing to complain about there.

For the price, it's great.
But I'm sure there are others that are better.
