Grommet Size (toggles/closing flaps)

Hi flydog,

Stimpson sent me a dozen as a sample batch to "test".

Good for you. But, it is something like 'my dog ate my homework,' it will only work for a while.

But nice to know,

PS) I have found the people at Stimpson to be very friendly whenever I call them. It is that it seems to me that their 'policies' keep changing.

No absolute answer. What are you using them in?

Practice 2-pin rig I made to hold my spare canopy.

I'll use whatever grommets work(spur) that don't rust lol

I just don't want to destroy the die set I got on this practice one. Would rather use it(with SS) on the real one I plan to make down the road.

I'm not at home to look but either 0 or 00. Not necessarily brass. Can be any material. Brass not best.

The.original paraflite free bags didn't have safety stows. Locking stows were O rings. Safety stows were a retrofit. I think I still have one kit including channel, stow loop, and grommets. Hmm, must have.been.0 because I don't have a 00 set.
I'm old for my age.

Hi jerolim,

I could swear that I saw brown/brass grommets on Aerodyne Icon's freebag from 2005 or from 2006. I think also Vortex2 uses brass grommets on freebags,..

I am not saying that they do not use brass grommets.

My 'clarification' was only in regards to your 'brown' gommets. I have never known of a grommet being described as brown. Yes, I know that old brass grommets do get dull in appearance and could easily look 'brown.'

From what I know, grommets can be:

Aluminum - Brass - Brass, nickle plated - Stainless steel

Anyone else?
