medic0079 0 #1 December 4, 2014 I have some risers that came with an old javelin container I picked up. There are steel rings tacked in the top of both one riser and the rear of the other. Any idea what they are for and if not needed can I snip the tack and take them out?
SStewart 13 #2 December 4, 2014 I would guess someone tacked a soft link with rings in the riser and then cut the link off leaving the ring in place. Just remove the tack and pull the ring out.Onward and Upward!
medic0079 0 #3 December 4, 2014 So pardon my ignorance what are the rings for I have slinks on my current rig with no rings in it. There was nothing in slinks instructions about rings Thanks
SStewart 13 #4 December 4, 2014 Some manufacturers use rings instead of tabs on their soft links. PD uses tabs, Precision has rings. My answer was just a guess. It really does not make sense to cut the link off and leave the ring but I have seen weirder things.Onward and Upward!

johnmatrix 21 #6 December 4, 2014 Maybe the risers went to someone who had no familiarity with the slinks with rings - and when they wanted to change them they thought the rings were meant to stay tacked to the riser and left them there.
skez 0 #7 December 5, 2014 Look like one of these were tacked in there i got these off some old risers and they had a knot going threw the risers and these somehow to secure themFTMC
