Question - If you do a water jump do you have to have your reserve repacked ?

Yes, If you land in the water you have to have your reserve taken out to dry and then a rigger has to pack it. You do not want it to mildew, etc.

I forgot to say that if you get it wet on the first jump of the day you could continue to jump it that day. Just take it out that night when you are done jumping or use it that day so it can air dry a little. Intentional reserve rides can be fun but they are not highly recommended.

Thanks for the info. I'm not intending on doing a water jump soon but if I do I will probably try to do it just before my reserve pack expires.
No point wasting jump/beer money on a repack if it's not due.

Call me a "Safety Nazi", but anyone that intentionally cuts away a perfectly good main for an intentional reserve ride without a third canopy (2nd reserve), should stop jumping for awhile and go bowling. I believe the SIMS, and there by USPA, completely disapproves of intentional cutaways without a 3rd canopy (2nd reserve). Just my .02

I had a little in there Tom. It was a joke. That is why I said they are not highly recommended. I do think reserves rides are fun although I hope I never have one again.
