The sad canopy

Recommended Posts

Only 10 months ago I was a beautiful, shiny, brand new canopy. Although my new owner was very happy to have me, he treated me like shit. He never cleaned me. He threw me around and left me packed with clumps of sand for weeks. He treated me like a whore. After 230 jumps I was finally washed, thoroughly, but by then it was too late...I was scarred for life. You would think that my owner, after spending so much money, would take a little time to maintain me :( Love your gear, be one with your gear, CLEAN your gear ;)

Sounds like a kids book? Like Thomas, or Dr. Sueeese, and or Clifford?

Anyways washing a canopy is generally not-reccommended, due to the negative effects it has on the threads???

But you point about sand is well taken :)

Hereers the copy from the other recent post:

[ red] "The leading edge was measured for shrinkage as well and discovered that it measures like a canopy that got wet and left to dry unsymmetrically. It did not test well as you can imagine."
But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."

I know it may not be good for a canopy to be washed all the time but when i had a cutaway and my canopy landed in 5 piles of wet cow shit, it was getting washed!

I'm curious...was that the first time you dropped a canopy in cowshit? :)
