Chaw714 0 #1 May 14, 2013 I have been seeing that firebirds canopies are quite a bit cheaper than other makes but seem pretty solid on the reviews. What does everyone who has tried one or has one think?
Cherubim 0 #2 May 15, 2013 I've owned a cayenne light 170 and my experience is: + Nice Design + Cayenne light 170 has near the same packing volume as my spectre 150 +- extreme flat glide - weak flare power - unpredictable hard opening sometimes And the hard openings were the reason i sold my cayenne and bought a spectre. obatzda 0 #3 May 15, 2013 Cherubim - unpredictable hard opening sometimes totaly agree, this sucker canopy punched my nuts several times! tried it with different packing didnt work for me either, a random propack was pure russian roulette on the cayenne light. im happy i dont have to jump it anymore since it was a rent rig, did about 20 jumps on it. or as you can read in the gearbox -> "Like torture? get one!" asphaltpussy 0 #4 May 17, 2013 Hi, it is true that the older Cayenne light 170 and 190 had sometimes hard openings. Even though this can happen to every canopy, we have to admit that it happened slightly more often on ours. Since 2011 we have therefore changed the nose design of the 170 and 190 and haven't had any complaints anymore. Back in the day I bought a couple of brand new PISA 170^2 HeatWaves. Before I even jumped either of them, I listened to a friend of mine who was flying one already. He had an over sized slider on it to prevent said Sabre type hard opening. It worked, very well. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
