Concern about anti-twists dbag and tight canopy/container

Recommended Posts

This might be a stupid question, but that's not the first stupid thing that comes out of my mouth ;).

I have a wings anti-twists dbag. My rigger put the rubber bands on the sides, rather than on the middle, so right now it is effectively a normal dbag. I was wondering why he did that, and thinking in putting the rubber bands in the middle stows. My rig is quite tight. Could it be that by using the middle stows you are putting more material in the bottom-top axis, increasing the pressure and the force needed to extract the dbag, which might cause pilot chute hesitation? Am I splitting hairs and this is just non-sense? Why would anybody use the side stows instead of the middle stows otherwise?
