Log book on PC

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know off any freeware or macros that i could use for a digtal log book.
I have been SCUBA diving for over 20 years and and have all my dices logged on my PC, but I had to retropectivley logg a whole bunch of them, using a dive computers software.
I'd like to do the same for my skydives, but this time start with a digital book instead of entering a bucket load of data later on.

yeah I'm certain it would, also matbe acess, but I'm not certain how to build macros or tmeplates.
If someone has already done that, I'd prefer not to re-invent the wheel

I have been thinking of programming an electronic
logbook for over a year now. This year I would like to
complete this program.
I will use Java and a build-in database.
Maybe I can send you a copy when I'm finished.

What features would you like? I will include jumpnr, date,
, height, aircraft-type, type of jump, equipment used, comments, price, landing distance...
Reporst should also be possible. Number of jumps each month/year, number of jumps/type, number of jumps/aircraft...

If you are at all decent with web design and some rudimentary database design, it isn't too hard. I slapped mine together pretty quickly. Now I just enter the jumps and the computer does all the math. Then it can be searched and sorted a variety of ways.

Hi,

It's true the wheel has already been invented... if you own or can afford to have one Pro-Track altimeter device (http://www.l-and-b.dk/protrack.htm) with Jump-Track software (http://www.l-and-b.dk/jumptrack.htm, you'll get all those features inherent to a jump logbook and many other additional, including rig track information, etc..

I've got these and I can tell you that it's awesome!!! ;)

I had already downloaded the demo from their website but there are a few things I would like to change.
For instance I don't like the way Jumptrack displays the statistics about jumps. I would prefer a column or bar chart for that.

By the way I don't like to spend > $ 150 (Protrack instead of Prodytter + Jumptrack software) of good jumping money on something I can make myself and maybe even better to my personal needs. ;)
