Seems like no one is excited about this.

It has the 4th beep in freefall but it also has beeping between the 3rd & 4th beeps which you can hear while you are tracking away so you know you din't miss the 4th beep... ehh... so it makes it less likely you miss the 4th beep.

I can see why you would not want to upgrade from a Optima II but if you are going to buying your first altimeter, why not buy the Quattro (aside from the fact that it apparently is not being sold yet) ? Sounds like a good product from a solid company.

I'd say a visual altimeter is better as the first altimeter.

It's great for some specific uses. Few audibles allow a setting above 9999. High altitude beeps are great on big ways and wingsuit competitions. I am over the moon about it.
