What's the most you've spent on beer?

Recommended Posts

How did you guess?

I've only got a few batches under my belt, so I'm far from on expert on the subject, but yes I do. As a matter of fact there's a batch in the closet right now. I'm probably going to try a spiced seasonal ale this weekend since it's too cold for jumping.

There are a few others here who home brew as well.

Glad to hear there's someone else here who knows about beer....There are a lot of swill-drinkers at my old DZ.

I'm a brewer too. Tomorrow I'll be getting together with the family for Thanksgiving & I'll be bringing homebrew: Four Irish Stouts, Four India Pale Ales, and four blonde ales!B| I also have a lightly-spiced Christmas Ale, but that's not ready to drink yet. I just bottled it on Sunday and I figure it needs about 3 weeks to mature. Should be great right around Christmas time!B|

That's cool, guy how used to teach skiing with me made some excellent home brews, he had some of those soda (pop for those in the west) canisters (like they use at the fountains) he filled, then had a CO2 tank. after a day of skiing, we'd have it in the snow, with the hose running in through the window. You never had to move from your chair, it was excellent!

I spent about $250 on "shots for my friends" on a regular Tuesday afternoon/evening a few years ago. It was not uncommon for me to run up several-hundred dollar bar tabs four days a week back when I was running the streets hard. Thank god I lived through those days without getting a DUI or killing myself.

well there is a story seeings how u asked. the first night i got to vegas i got up on them for about 300 at the blackjack table and the adrenaline was flowing quite well. i go to the room about 4 in the morning and tell my buddy who is asleep about my winnings and needless to say i was drinking a little and didn't have the good judgement to go to bed. instead i decided to go back down to the casino for one more beer and guess what happened to that 300 in my pocket? u guessed it they got it back. so, that one beer along with poor judgement cost me 300!

do not wait to drink this beer

Well, I couldn't wait to try at least one bottle! For whatever it's worth, this stuff packs a hell of punch, it may be the most complex beer I've ever had but it definitely needs to age some more. I'm thinking 6 months at the minimum, after another year or two it will probably be perfect.

I thought this was interesting, 666 calories per 12oz bottle. Yikes!

Mmmm..........Beer.

Skydiving?

Back in the '80s (whoa remember the 80's?)

I had two malfunctions on back to back loads....

I had to buy a case for each reserve ride, plus one for a dropped rip cord, and another one for something else I can't remember.......two jumps, 4 cases!!!!!!<>

I was glad to do it, actually I am glad just to be alive!

Most I've spent on beer....

Do you mean one single beer, or one trip to the beer store?

Single beer: about $8 for some really obscure good beers
Trip to store: about $250 for a lot of really good beers, mostly Belgian

I'm getting ready to make a Hazelnut Brown Ale and a batch of mead.

I'll be spending a shitload on beer in a month or so. After I land a job I will be buying the equipment to do all-grain brewing (as opposed to using store-bought malt extract). I gotta buy a 30 qt pot, Propane burner, mash/lauter tun, and a grain mill. That'll all be a few hundred, but after that it will cost me only about 25 to 35 cents per beer.B| And I'll be more likely to win awards in homebrew contests! (all-grain beer often tastes even better than extract beers).

So after I win my first award for beer, what would I owe? A skydive?
