lurch 0 #1 May 12, 2003 Ok lets see where the gun fans REALLY stand. This should be nice and controversial. With all the noise about gun control I figure someday they WILL try it...ban everything and run around collecting all guns. Make it nice and simple. They keep records of every gun sold so they already know what you have and will come for you. If you're not police or military and you refuse to surrender your guns or are caught with one, go to prison. period. Do you cooperate or not? Where do you draw the line and say "this far, no further"? This ought to be good.Live and learn... or die, and teach by example.

PhillyKev 0 #18 May 12, 2003 Quotei didn't vote because the scenario i think will happen isn't there, the gov't isn't planning on now, or ever to come and dissarm law abiding americans. They already have. QuoteCertain firearms are now under a confiscation order. This, also posted on a state-run web site. California residents must turn in their SKS rifles by 1/1/2000 -- precisely the Y2K rollover date -- or face criminal prosecution. Recently-enacted legislation mandates this confiscation, calling it a "buyback" program and offering to reimburse gun owners $230 per "relinquished" rifle. Here's another order where they don't even reimburse you. CA Confiscation Order Also check out the 2002 Defense Authorization Bill http://www.americanfreepress.net/Police_State/Gun_Confiscation_Legislation_P/gun_confiscation_legislation_p.html And they've been trying to get it done nationally for years: QuoteMr. Speaker, I rise to introduce the Public Health and Safety Act of 1993 on behalf of myself and nine of my colleagues: Mel Reynolds, Bill Clay, Jerry Nadler, Eleanor Holmes Norton, John Lewis, Nydia Velazquez, Ron Dellums, Carrie Meek, and Alcee Hastings. This legislation, first introduced in the Senate by Senator John Chafee, would prohibit the transfer or possession of handguns and handgun ammunition, except in limited circumstances. It would go a long way toward protecting our citizens from violent crime. The need for a ban on handguns cannot be overstated. Unlike rifles and shotguns, handguns are easily concealable. Consequently, they are the weapons of choice in most murders, accounting for the deaths of 25,000 Americans in 1991. A 6-month grace period would be established during which time handguns could be turned in to any law enforcement agency with impunity and for reimbursement at the greater of $25 or the fair market value of the handgun . After the grace period's expiration, handguns could be turned in voluntarily with impunity from criminal prosecution, but a civil fine of $500 would be imposed. Exemptions from the handgun ban would be permitted for Federal, State, or local government agencies, including military and law enforcement; collectors of antique firearms; federally licensed handgun sporting clubs; federally licensed professional security guard services; and federally licensed dealers, importers, or manufacturers. lurch 0 #22 May 12, 2003 guns? what a hell explain 2 me for what a hell r good? ...If I must..... A gun is a device which fires a projectile at high speed usually by confined combustion pressure. It is good for hunting for food shooting for pleasure/target practice and killing/maiming/disabling other humans. This last use can be very beneficial to you and your family when the other human in question is whacked on crack, not responding to diplomatic overtures and trying ferociously to hurt/kill/maim you and your family because you have a dvd player he needs to take from you and sell to support his crack habit. ...any questions?Live and learn... or die, and teach by example.
