jumperlex 0 #1 January 21, 2012 Hello, Anyone have advice for a newbie on what to look for when buying a used Cypress (particularly online, like dz.com). I gather manufacturing date and date of last service are key...what else? Thanks!
SStewart 13 #2 January 21, 2012 Get the serial number and contact SSK. They can tell you if the 4 year or eight year service has been done, when the unit will expire and if it is listed as stolen. From the seller ask when the last battery change was done. On the Cypres 1 it needs to be replaced every 2 years or 500 jumps. On the Cypres 2 it is replaced at the 4 year and 8 year service.Onward and Upward!
fencebuster 7 #3 January 22, 2012 +1. And also ask to have the seller send it to a rigger as a neutral intermediery so that you don't get screwed.Charlie Gittins, 540-327-2208 AFF-I, Sigma TI, IAD-I MEI, CFI-I, Senior Rigger Former DZO, Blue Ridge Skydiving Adventures
bluetwo 0 #4 January 22, 2012 I like that. Involving a rigger..... you can't count on people to be honest unfortunately. Having a rigger look at it should make people think twice about not being totally up front about what they are selling._______________________________________
