RIGGER 0 #2 December 23, 2011 This SB shows again that LINE TRIM INSPECTION on MAIN & RESERVE is a MUST BEFORE first jump. Parachutes are made by Humans & can have issues - out from factory doesn't means all is good - needs to be inspected by a Rigger & with the Mfg. line trim chart. Same process after reline by Master Rigger (Major Repair) or Factory. The "culture" of it is a "main parachute" so it can be pulled out from box attached to risers & jumped must go away. If there is a line trim/fabric/tapes issue the canopy might fail & put the user in risk at high altitude = cutaway - reserve - free bag & p/c - handles (lost or not) at LOW altitude / GROUND affect - impact / hard landing for canopy failure. It is much cheaper to pay for a Rigger Inspection & Assembling than paying with your health / life. Tandem canopies serve the PUBLIC as well. Think about it. HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!
