Kurupee ff suit: Questions before order one

Recommended Posts

Hello all,
I want to buy my first 2 piece ff suit and I want an extra opinion.
After my big disappointment from "matter" (It's been 22 weeks and I have no answer from them about my order. They charged me and they gone) I want to buy another one.

So... I think I'm going to order a kurupee suit, I have some questions and I want someone with Kurupee suit (or not), help me.

1) I'm 1,80 cm (5'9") height and 82 kg (180 lb) weight and now starting free flying.
Do I have to take the tight one, or the medium size? Is tight, too tight? I want to fit like this one http://www.ffp.asso.fr/IMG/jpg/babylon_hd.jpg
Is it tight too fast for my size and skill?

2) If I choose tight and double layer as extra... is the this the best option for me? For fit like this (http://www.ffp.asso.fr/IMG/jpg/babylon_hd.jpg) and low fall speed.

3) Supplex or cotton? And why?

4) Do they respond to emails (Kurupee)? (from your order experience)

5) 2 piece or 1 piece suit? What’s your opinion about that?

6) Delivery times? (true time not Kurupee time)

Thanx

I bought a Kurupee suit from Ed about 3 years ago-got it to fit medium. The suit has been great-but the material he was using then got really banged up in the tunnel and looks rough but still works great. (It's just fuzzed up all over).

I ordered a camera jacket from him a few months ago-it was built with better materials, and put together very nicely. Only problem is that it was built with Teal Green instead of Kelly Green for the lightning design on the sleeves. (I ordered it to match my FF suit, which it didn't). I opted to buy Kelly Green fabric and sew new designs over his lightning bolts, as I wanted to jump the suit and didn't want to deal with sending it back to South America and dealing with all of that. (And matching was important to me...)

I really like Kurupee suits. The lack of good contact, fact that they are made in another country is an issue-but I've been happy with what I've gotten from them. As a camera flyer I've have great success with the FF suit for most videos, throw the jacket on for light tandems and RW vid. The combo gives me great range.

Yes, go for the medium. I had a tight one, it is really... tight.

No need with the medium size.

3) Supplex or cotton? And why?

I prefer cotton, I find it more comfortable.

I always had an answer, but sometimes had to wait a long time.

To start, 1 piece is better. Too many changes while learning is not the best idea.

At the time (two years ago), they told me three weeks and it took 4.
