Bush showed some true class today, flew to Iraq to surprise a group of soldiers with their Thanksgiving celebration.

It was a total surprise for those invovled (the soldiers). I thought that was a seriously cool move on his part.

(for the liberals: yes, I know that you'll say that it was a stupid thing for him to do and it was only to boost his ratings...before you start saying that, think about the soldiers over there, I know they appreciated it, they said so themselves).

Apparently it wasn't just a surprise to the soldiers. I heard on the news today that some members of the Secret Service didn't know he was going either. A very hush-hush operation, I suppose though that it has to be.

I agree, too, it was a nice thing to do.

As great as this is, I suspect that this was purely for political gain. With the elections comming up soon, something tells me this was just to secure votes as he is not doing as well as most would like on the home front.

Having said that, this was truely a very classy move on his part and great for morale of the troops. Nice move shrub, I mean Bush.

Seeing as how we occupy the border just above you I think that entitles me to a pretty informed opinion of American politics.

Personal attacks aside for a moment shrub, as I described is a pettite bush. Or a bush that is still growing. This term in was coined from the fact that he is George Bush Junior hence shrub.

Hmmm - US interferes in Israeli politics, in Afghan politics, in Iraq (to the point of invading and occupying the country, which, it turns out, posed no threat to the US), in Panamanian and Colombian politics, in Nicaraguan politics, and the list goes on and on. That said..I am a Marine's daughter and proud of it! We should ALL support the troops who are sacrificing (sp?) SO much this time of year! (Regardless of who is in control and how we feel about them)

It may be good for his political standings, but you know what? I think that regardless of any ancillary gain, that is exactly what he should be doing.

When the soldiers were in Somalia, it has been said that Clinton was watching a football game and didn't want to be disturbed.

It is all about them. If his presence cheers the troops up, then that is exactly where he should be. Good job.

Want to talk about the last time we were under attack. It was 9/11. There wouldn't have been a second attack if Mr. C had gotten a little payback at that time. Instead, we got attacked again.

Just so it's clear. I think that Clinton violated every concept of what the Presidency is about.

Clinton commited troops to Somlia and wusses out when it comes to standing behind him. He made our national image into "Shoot one and they'll go home." Want to invite attack? That's the way to do it.

Clintons reason for not committing tanks was because of world opinion or appearing to take a too-aggressive stance. He should have read the "It's a war, stupid" sign.

Bush wouldn't be in Iraq if Clinton had done 1/4 of his job. He is just cleaning up his messes.
