skyesspot 0 #1 December 24, 2003 I got this fun fact from an email. I checked snopes but there was nothing about it. (always CYA) How long is a fruitcake edible? Quite a long time (that is, if you consider it edible to begin with). According to "The Joy of Cooking" by Irma Rombauer, Marion Rombauer Becker, and Ethan Becker, fruitcakes "well-wrapped and stored in airtight tins, are reputed to remain enjoyable for as long as 25 years; we have not sampled one." The cakes are saturated with alcoholic liquors to keep down mold (and, of course, to taste better).Life is too short. Don't sweat the small stuff. wzettler 0 #2 December 24, 2003 Well, I guess I can re-gift those things for years to come then. Great! I think when Jesus said "love your enemy" he probably meant don't kill them.

themitchyone 0 #7 December 24, 2003 Quote I heard a fruitcake radio clip that said only 30 percent of fruitcakes are eaten. But even that number seems high. I mean, does anyone know anyone that likes fruitcake?"If the Bible has taught us nothing else, and it hasn't, it's that girls should stick to girl's sports such as hot oil wrestling and foxy boxing." - Homer Simpson

Sheenster303 0 #11 December 24, 2003 I really dislike fruitcake but my parents absolutely love it! I think it must be an old people thing or something. My mom makes them and she loves to get them as presents. She's such a weirdo. That stuff is so disgusting.I'm so funny I crack my head open!
