Talon Squeaking Noise

Recommended Posts

Same with my Teardrop SF now and then. Seems to happen more often when the straps are really tightened up and the air is pretty warm and dry. But it also squeaked on cold days, so... And yeah, comes from the hip rings.

All jokes aside, anyone else got more information about this noise, and possible solutions?

Check your harness rings for any pitting, chipping of the plating or other rough surfaces.

I kinda doubt you'll find any, but you can check to be sure. If there was a rough surface, it wouldn't squeak, it would "grind".

The nylon is just rubbing on the rings and squeaking. It shouldn't be a problem.

Now, has anybody seen the key to the hydraulic lock??:P

Contacting the Manufacturer should be the first stop if this is a concern really. What better place to ask than the guy who made the rig? I would send him an e-mail and ask, Sandy is a very knowledgeable guy. But I'd bet a beer on it that his answer is going to basically be "it's nothing to worry about".
