Hellis 0 #26 December 11, 2010 QuoteAll jokes aside, anyone else got more information about this noise, and possible solutions? I know earplugs wont help as i use them myself and i hear the squeaking noise. But i think (have not tried myself) a mp3 player and this at max volume will do the trick. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ Tell us how it works
Abedy 0 #27 December 11, 2010 Same with my Teardrop SF now and then. Seems to happen more often when the straps are really tightened up and the air is pretty warm and dry. But it also squeaked on cold days, so... And yeah, comes from the hip rings. The sky is not the limit. The ground is. Check your harness rings for any pitting, chipping of the plating or other rough surfaces. I kinda doubt you'll find any, but you can check to be sure. If there was a rough surface, it wouldn't squeak, it would "grind". The nylon is just rubbing on the rings and squeaking. It shouldn't be a problem. Contacting the Manufacturer should be the first stop if this is a concern really. What better place to ask than the guy who made the rig? I would send him an e-mail and ask, Sandy is a very knowledgeable guy. But I'd bet a beer on it that his answer is going to basically be "it's nothing to worry about"."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
