sdctlc 0 #1 January 26, 2004 This is a nice page that gives lots of info on the conversion of a DC-3 to a Basler Turbo-67. Cool to poke around if you like airplanes. Takes a big ass airplane and makes it bigger! Something like a 5 ton lifting capacity (way more then the DC-3) Huge Cargo Door.... Tossed a few pics up! Very nifty info espically looking at the specs in comparison to the DC-3. I have been in the one the US forest service uses and it is really an amazing cross between what I think of as a DC-3 and the new stuff. http://www.baslerturbo.com/ Scott C."He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!" SkymonkeyONE 3 #2 January 26, 2004 Westwind. The coolest ones I ever saw (and jumped) were the ones that the El Salvador Airforce had. Flat black with big fucking tires
airtwardo 6 #3 January 26, 2004 I've gotten to jump those a few times... Basler is right on the airport at Oshkosh... Just down from Kermit Weeks' hangar. We got to jump them as kind of a promo demo thing during the EAA Air Show. NICE! ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~

koz2000 1 #5 January 26, 2004 You have to take the doors off. If you go to the website it has pictures that are larger http://www.baslerturbo.com/specifications.html enjoy D______________________________________________ - Does this small canopy make my balls look big? - J. mjosparky 3 #6 January 26, 2004 Someone in South Africa has converted several DC-3's to turbine power. There is one based at Ca. City. I made the first load out of it about a year ago. It has flown a few loads a Perris. SparkyMy idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
