I wish...

Recommended Posts

I wish that UPS had greater detail in their tracking details on their website. For instance, instead of just "arrival scan" and departure scan, I wish they'd have what the package is doing. Like sitting in the corner, getting thrown violently across the truck docks, or being loaded on a truck, etc.

I guess I'm just a little impatient, since my new canopy is apparently sitting at some UPS facility in "ONTARIO, CA, US" having had only its "arrival scan" and nothing else added to the list.

Shouldn't you be saving your money for a wedding

No, I should be saving for our honeymoon, bride's family gets stuck with the wedding >:(

Actually, I ordered this canopy before i bought the ring, Morgan told me that if I didn't she'd be very mad at me. So I guess I just *had* to get a new happy happy swoopy swoopy canopy.:P

i agree ~ UPS isn't as detailed as FedEx in their "package status" [:/] but it's okay dave--- your wait is well worth it! yaaaaaaaaay!

One of these days I want to ship a rate gyro, an accelerometer, an altimeter, an INS and a GPS all attached to a data logger from coast to coast. Just to see what they actually _do_ to packages.

I wish that suddenly appears arrival and departure scans, and also a delivery at correct destination scan in a shorter as expected schedule:)

i had ups actually say that it departed the destination and the arrived at the same destination the next day... then they added 2 days to the expected delivery date... REALLY pissed me off. Can't remember what it was, I think it was my camera or something. I use FedEx now when i can

that should give you a good baseline to extrapolate from...

Bill,

I for one would LOVE to see you do this. Actually, I'd like to see you do that to three different packages shipped the same method via UPS, FedEx and USPS, then you can graph and compare the data. That would make one hell of a report! Especially if you publish your report.;)

I think my canopy is in a box and being used as a doorstop! Look at this:

Quote

Service Type: 3 DAY SELECT

Package Progress:

Date Time Location Activity

Feb 17, 2004 10:04 A.M. ONTARIO, CA, US DEPARTURE SCAN
12:27 A.M. ONTARIO, CA, US ARRIVAL SCAN
Feb 16, 2004 10:11 P.M. CHULA VISTA, CA, US DEPARTURE SCAN
6:37 P.M. CHULA VISTA, CA, US ORIGIN SCAN

It hasn't had another scan in nearly 24hrs? You can drive from CA to College Station in 24hrs. Hell, they could have handed it to a hitchhiker and had it in TX by now!

Sweeeeeeeeeeet. Now you'll get to spend a couple hours planning on how you want your cameras setup and drilling holes and stuff.

Oh, btw, its taking me a little bit to get good at Mig again, its been a while. On the upside, I only ruined one tip before I started getting it again, also, its nice that Tweeco 11-23s are like $1 apiece.:P:P
