Hellis 0 #1 September 13, 2010 I currently have a Spectre 170, and its tight but not a hugh problem to get in there. I have a plan to downsize to 150, and i think i have fallen in love with 7 cells. So i figured the next canopy should be a 7 cell also. Im worried it will be to smal for the bag/container. I have a Javelin J1KS and it holds up to 150, 150 9 cell canopy, right? A 7 cell 150 is a bit smaler, and if i would have it in ZPX would that make it too small? If i understand it correct the ZPX is 15-20% smaler. 150-20%=120 (and add that its 7 cell ) What do you think? Will it be OK or not?

Hellis 0 #3 September 13, 2010 What i have read about the ZPX. Its easier to pack than a normal ZP canopy. The "selfhealing" thing Its not that big difference in price, so why be cheap? I want to be the coolkid on the DZ

I want to be the coolkid on the DZ Earlier you mentioned a PD Spectre 170. Talking ZPX and 7 cells implies Triathlon. Be sure to demo one before purchase. Spectre and Triathlon fly significantly differently. I have owned both and much prefer the Spectre. (But I'll also say that I got my Tri after about 1.5 years of production. A number of changes have been made to the canopy since then, so my impressions of that canopy might not apply to a more modern version.) Should you stick with a Spectre, you will not the option of ZPX, and the whole question could be moot.
millertime24 8 #5 September 13, 2010 I put a Pilot 132 ZPX canopy in a J1KS. It fits just fine. Just have to shorten the closing loop a bit is all. Your local rigger can help you with this.Muff #5048
Hellis 0 #6 September 14, 2010 Oh! Wow. Does it feel lose or is it ok? If you got a 132 ZPX in there fine a 150 should work

In fact, my rigger said you could probably go to a 124 even, but that would be pushing the smallest you would want to put in it. It also has a 143 reserve.Muff #5048
Will_Evo 0 #8 September 14, 2010 I have a J3K container made for a 170 and had a Spectre 170 in it at first. I recently bought a Safire2 149 and am using it in the same container and bag. Fits fine and was checked by a rigger and a few experienced packers all of them saying the fit was good...I don't think you'll have a problem. -EvoZoo Crew
