What is this?

While I am no expert in "old as dirt" gear values, all of his items seem seriously overpriced. (Unless, of course, you factor in the hysterical value)

And here is another one for sale.

More reasonably priced.:P

I had seen the 850 listed other places but had never seen a photo of one. Also, the photo on ebay confused me for awhile. The chest strap pads looked kind of like the lateral band stuctures on a 350. Now I see they are the chest strap pads.

And yes this guy on ebay is drastically overpriced. A sucker born every minute.

I had two of these in my loft this season - GQ Safety Chutes. Both were old donkeys. One had been left packed so long the pilot chute barely had enough oomph to stand itself up.

Nothing inherently wrong with them - except for being 30 year old orphan rigs that can't be updated. As far as I know, both pilots have new car covers.

That looks like a PEP made by Hank Asquito(sp?) or Jim Handbury, circa 1980.

It might contain a 26' Lopo reserve canopy made by Strong or Security, but my gut feeling is that the vendor does not a have a clue what he is trying to sell.

I've got a red PEP with a 24' Phantom in it, made in Ca. in 1983 under license from Handbury (~ I believe).
I got it for the wife when we were first dating, she had a seat pack in a great lakes which didn't work size wise for her.

The PEP hasn't been re-packed in over 20 years, ~gotta couple of Strong rigs now, though the wife hasn't flown any aerobatics in years.
