FallRate 0 #51 March 7, 2004 QuoteI don't really like naked bikes or half fairing bikes. What lies underneath the fairings is what really makes the bike. The SV-650 rocks...just keep contemplating it...it will grow on you! FallRate
Viking 0 #52 March 7, 2004 i don't dought its a nice bike, but i'm looking at the Yamaha YZF-600R, i really don't like the look of naked bikes and i'v been looking at bikes since like sophmore year of highschool. The 600r is 599cc's so its in a lower insurance class than the sv650. I can find one used for like 3500-4500 (retail for $7k). I hope i can find an 03 model in Silver when i decide to make my mom worry about me. StevePhelps 0 #53 March 7, 2004 Just you ... Nice bike, but I prefer my Harley Davidson 1992 "Daytona*" Dyna Glide *Anniversary bike Enjoy your ride!
FallRate 0 #54 March 7, 2004 Hmm, lower insurance rates. Forgot about that. Yep, you may have to go with the R6. I hope you can live with "settling" . Hope to ride with ya! FallRate
Viking 0 #55 March 7, 2004 The R6 and the 600R or completely different bikes. The R6 is a full on track ready bike, the 600R is more a sport tourer (more upright riding postion, and a more comfy seat)I swear you must have footprints on the back of your helmet - chicagoskydiver My God has a bigger dick than your god -George Carlin
BoostedXT 0 #56 March 7, 2004 I have to vote for the Mille R from Aprilia. The Duc is a nice bike but I loved the 748/996 design. The 749 and the 999 is over the top. Not what I expected when riden, and the sound doesnt sound like the Duc of the past. To me at least. Stumpy 284 #57 March 8, 2004 Quote The 600r is 599cc's so its in a lower insurance class than the sv650. Have you checked this? It may be different in the US but in the UK the sv650 is about 6 groups lower than any of the supersports bikes - due to being a v twin it makes about 20 bhp less than any of the 600cc inline 4's Thats why i bought one - originally i wanted a gixer but the insurance was crippling. Bought the sv with the fairing lowers (makes it fully faired) and have never looked back!! And the torque makes it so much fun to ride!Never try to eat more than you can lift
Dbriggs 0 #58 March 9, 2004 QuoteOh i agree that the Viper motor is sexy as hell, but you can only really use it in a straight line. Thats not sexy. Whats not sexy about a straight line car or bike Bro?!?! You got issues Bro. I love road racing bikes...but every now and then you need to go in a straight line. Viking 0 #59 March 10, 2004 QuoteWhats not sexy about a straight line car or bike Bro?!?! you can't take it to a mountain road and take a 35mph corner at 70+ with the bike layed over on the very edge of the tires.I swear you must have footprints on the back of your helmet - chicagoskydiver My God has a bigger dick than your god -George Carlin
Dbriggs 0 #60 March 12, 2004 Ok Ok You do have a point there. But I must admit that I prefer going in a straight line. Whether it be on the street or on one of the many wonderful dirt roads we have here in the desert. God I love being young and stupid.
