What's an average cost to ship rig for inspection and possible purchase? Let's say within a 1000 miles.

Not certain. Anything "quick" yet economical. I am interested in have a rig shipped to me for sizing and rigger inspection. Just don't know about cost.

Every single shipping company has a cost estimator on their site. FedEx/UPS/USPS, etc.

as far as sizing - get the serial number, contact the manufacturer, and save both the sellers and the buyers time.

I just shipped a rig ... all it had was a packed reserve just add a little if it has a main...

$33 for ground
$65 for 2 day

and $12 for them to package it all nice and safe...

I shipped a fairly large rig (190 main, similar reserve) from WI to AL a couple months ago. They provided boxes and packed it for me and it was insured for $1000. Both the FedEx and UPS rates were about $40. One cost more to ship, the other cost more to pack, end results were within $1.

Edit to add: I wasn't in a hurry so it went "slowest", which was Ground.

Sent my rig from NY>Eloy,AZ. Just container w/reserve. Dropped at UPS depot w/my pkg. Insured for $4k. Cost $65.04.
